Well, having just completed my 1st semester of the nursing program, I have found that as a single guy, you are really in (at times) a very weird catch-22 being in a female-dominated student body. Although I definitely do not... Read More

Ahhh...it sucks being in nursing school and wanting a relationship at the same time. Theres a girl in my program that i've fallen for, but as a previous poster said, I don't have to courage to ask her out due to awkwardness of rejection or the potential breakup. I almost feel like I'm missing out on life. Oh well, I guess i'll play it cool and if she approaches me on the subject then maybe i'll consider doing the unthinkable...a relationship in nursing school
Oh yeah play it cool. of course you like her you see her most of your waking life. I am not saying what you feel for her isn't real but many people in school get off track because lets face it......in class people "understand" you/each other, etc. Plus long hours together makes people who normally wouldn't like each other start on this road because they are lonely and tired. I have also seen a alot of married people at school and at work fall into a familar routine with each other and think they are love. Usually it has ended in a bad way from what I have observed and I work in a cop shop and go to nursing school. Hahaha so I see both sides mentioned on the board.

On a side note a I know a cop who had the windows of his personal vehicle and his patrol car busted out by his ex wife and because he could not prove it either no charges were filed on her. So they get hammered just like us civilians. Oh and in his case she did the cheating because of his long hours (they do 12 hours here) and when he would not take her back and filed for the divorce last year is when the busting of the windows began. He was told set up a camera and catch her or be forever familar with the insurance company and being embarrased every 2 weeks where she alternates off his personal car and breaks up the patrol car. She has taken out the light bars and everything.

So see the school would have no recourse on the pyscho student anymore then the 9th largest police force in the United States has on a some cop's pyscho ex wife. Trust me a good portion of them have been there themselves they aren't passing the buck. They just know a judge will throw it out without a video. It "had to be her because shes crazy" is not enough to charge or convict anyone in the real world.

I am one of the girls in the class. it is kinda weird because the guys get so much attention from the teachers and the students.
needless to say I began a completely physical relationships with one of the 2 guys in our class. We have no intentions on dating just getting our school stress out! maybe you could try that . I have to admit its pretty fun, just you both have to agree mums the word and itt won't be more than that.:redpinkhe

The main thing was EVERYONE, except her was in class that day...No one around to "prove" it was her. At least that is what the cops told him.

The latest update on pyscho gal....she has decidedly dumped male student nurse number 2 and is "reportedly" dating an instructor in another program...

I hope he drives a crappy old car.... LOL

    As the story unfolds..................

Psycho gal....... Was dating an instructor until his "wife" found out. Turns out she was a little more wacky than psycho gal. "Wife" turns up at school last Weds to see hubby and psycho eating together (yeah this is seriously not supposed to happen, LOL). A classmate saw her coming and runs around the corner to tell the rest of us. We went around the corner to witness "wife" smack psycho then turn and smacked hubby. Needless to say, psycho is now no longer a student at our nursing school, and I haven't seen said instructor for almost 2 weeks.

Moral of the sordid story..... Don't get involved in a nursing school relationship (Both in same nursing school). It gets ugly, people get hurt, someone gets kicked out, and the class is never the same. Go date someone who is in another type of program......

I normally would never recommend to a guy that he get in the friend zone. But this is that exception. Try being her friend and getting to know her well. If there's a really deep connection potential there then it can grow over time. If not, you'll find out as you get to know them non-sexually.

"Dating someone" vs "not dating someone" isn't an either/or.

I"m kind of bored now that I know Pyscho Gal was kicked out of school.

    It was really getting interesting.

Guess I should have checked back more often.

I guess the instructor was let go?? He is lucky his wife just smacked them around nowadays a lot of people get shot over this kind of stuff.

So do you guys have a normal class now or do you have some other lunatics in there now crawling out the woodwork now that the main one is gone?

Well, seems as if psycho gal is trying to take our school to court. Seems that the instructor relationship was "disturbing, unwanted and threatening." It resulted in her losing points, missing days (Days in a hotel with this man) and thus resulting in poor grade and class performance leading to her dismissal. (Can you imagine)?

Oh, no, the class is full of oddities. Can't say we are EVER bored with the class of misfits we have. We have a lesbian triangle, a couple that are outspoken swingers, a couple that are not a couple (very interesting dynamic those 2), a male woman hater who takes great offense when asked by the instructor to join a discussion group lead by, you guessed it, women, 2 female instructors that are retired military full-bird colonels (If you know much about the military then you know nothing gets past these two ladies), and countless younguns that discuss, foolishly, in front of the instructors their party habits (We have a life altering test on Monday and this group is on the way to the Keys to party, oh but they will find time to study), and the list goes on and on. LOL

OH, instructor is now on probation pending this "forced" relationship. Wife filed for divorce this past week! GO GURL!

Wow your class is fascinating. I mean seriously drama set aside they acutually represent so many facets of society that we will be seeing as nurses.

The couple who is not a couple has me the most intrigued.

I have witnessed a lot of lesbian triangles and met a few swingers over the years along with men who hate women and women who hate men types as well. I can only guess at the shock of those classmates who may have not yet encountered different kinds of people yet.

Your instructors (the full birds) sound like that is what the class needs in this case. I know a lot of military people and I work in a quasi military structure enviroment so I can just imagine what they're like.

As for the party goers going to the Keys they will have some life altering test results if they actually beleive anyone heading to the Keys is going to study.

Psycho girl has NERVE OMG how dare she take the school to court over her own actions. It's not like she was kidnappened and held hostage there. What a freaky girl. I hope no other program takes her on either, it's too frightening to think someone like that could be responsible for patients one day.

I"m proud of the instructor's wife for not taking this nonsense and filing for divorce. No one needs that kind of nonsense. Maybe the other instructor should think about becoming a swinger himself since he's so dang curious for something outside of his marriage.

Well keep me posted in between studying your class is like psychology 101 come to life.

Oh man, my first semester chem class was that way big time. All nursing students in a class of 160+ and about 5 guys. I'm 24, and a former us marine. Ya, it was funny at 1st. But it got old. I didn't want anything to do with the 18 year old girls in those classes. They just aren't on my level at all. Funny thing is the guys in that class formed a study group and we did the best in the class with the exception of about 3 or 4 really bright girls. A couple guys wanted to get all over the girls in class, but I did my best to keep that in check. I refused to date those girls. Didn't even want to have to deal with them later on down the road if things ended badly. There are tons of girls, go find other ones.

Yep, sure is a catch-22. Although I must admit, summer's coming and it's definitely the best time of the year in terms of fashion.
