1.] Around $30k-something. Yeah... a lot.
2.] Yes, I did. I also need to go to a place called OppInc. to get a 10% discount on tuition and $5k towards it. In all I think it is somewhere around $13k I will be pulling out in student loans.

I'm paying about $12,500 for a 10 month program (M-F 8-330). This includes EVERYTHING...tuition, uniforms, books, lab kits, graduation cap/gown...literally everything. It's nice knowing that you won't have to spend any additional money other than that!
I did not qualify for any grants or anything...but took out $9000 in loans.
I go to Butler Tech, located north of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Although the cost of the program is definitely something you need to consider, make sure you are researching much much more than that! I lucked out because my school offered my program in the length of time that I wanted, is less than 10 minutes from home, has a GREAT reputation with the surrounding hospitals and schools, and has great pass rates on the NCLEX. Definitely check out the past pass rates for any school that you are looking into...you want a school that will give you the highest quality of education and really prepare you to succeed!! :)

wow, you made $70,000 your first year as an lpn? may i ask what area of nursing you work in that pays that kind of money? i was thinking of becoming a wound care nurse or infection control nurse, but $70,000 seems even higher than what i believe those two pay. thanks!
