Realistic salary for an LPN?

What salary can you expect to make once you graduate as an LPN? I'm asking this because I went to school to be a Dental Assistant & we were told we would start out making between $11-12 an hour..I've been offered as low as $8.50 an hour. I just want to know what to expect if I decide to go to school to be an LPN. I know it differs from state to state. I live in PA by the way. I wish thinking I would start out at least $13 an hr.

I'm not sure how acurate this is (I just got accepted to a nursing program, I'm not a nurse yet), but I have been told 13$ an hour is the starting pay for most places. With experience it can go as high as 16-19$ an hour.=)

Around where i live they typically start out from 18-22 an hour and sometimes more depending on where you're at...

Ive heard about $16-$18, starting in the Pacific NW.

In CT they start at 18-22 depending on experience, more experienced (those with CNA backgrounds) can start as high as 25 as one of my friends did in LTC, so it depends

In CA, with no experience, the starting salary is between $25-$35 hour depending on where you work. Working in an LTC, you can start at $25 to $27 and working for the Dept of Corrections can range from $30 to $35 starting with no experience.

In Alberta LPN's start out about $24 and go up to $29, however this doesnt include wage differential which is $5 for nights and $2.75-$3.25 for weekends and evenings(so in the mid $30's for those at the high end of the increment level)...:) As an HCA (equivalant Im assuming of a CNA) I make way more than $13 an hour...between $18-$28 depending on what increment level one is at (highest is abt $21) and the wage differential (same as above).

You should be starting right out of school in the mid to high 20's. I haven't seen 13 dollars an hour in 20 years. The absolute least you should taken is 20-22 with differentials between 2-6 hour which will bring you up to mid to high 20's. Please don't sell yourself short.

Florida-private duty nursing-$15 an hour.:crying2:

I'm also going for my LPN in Aug. I want to know if anybody knows the starting pay for them in the Tampa Bay area?(St.Petersburg to be exact) i really want to do OB/GY or pedi. Right now i'm a pct at Bayfront, and they no longer hire LPN's, so what are now my options?? Any help will be appreciated.Thank You
