Wow...that is alot.

I live in PA and I am going to a technical school. I think my total is around 14,000. I thought my tuition was a little high.

What school is that?

I live in Central Illinois and mine is $12,500. Trixie, that program sounds more like the price of an RN program. Yikes!!

You might want to try another school.

Mine is only around $3000.00. I couldn't imagine paying 10x that amount!

mine will be around $4,500. i couldnt imagine $31,000. my husband would tell me to find another profession!!

YES!!!

A lot of "schools" are popping up that tend to not be accredited (so no transfer of classes or credit given, only license will be acknowlegded). The schools are run like a business, having orientation meetings constantly, trying to lure in new students. They may have a fine pass rate of NCLEX they can boast about, but it's because they have 399493 students paying their tuition of $20K+, only to have 30 or so actually pass. The rest are left with a tuition bill for the classes that don't even transfer. The two schools I did look into like this were very persuasive, calling and sending letters, plus made everything so easy for me!

I'm now at a community college. My total cost for tuition will be around $6000, including all, pre-health screens, uniforms, books, etc. I'm starting the RN program in Jan right after I graduate, and my pharmacology, all anatomy/sciences/humanities/math (took most pre-nursing), and nutrition transfer. I earned As in all of them, so I can't imagine if I had to retake them and pay tuition for those classes.

You can check out LPN salaries, and figure how much time it will take to pay back your tuition if you take loans if I haven't done enough to dissuade you yet! Good luck!

is it?

thanks,

trixie

Hmmmmm I think you might want to find antoher school. I'm paying $8000 for a 18mth and I think that's alittle up there. Don't get stuck in the first school you get accepted to. Find other schools like Technical schools or hospital programs if offered in your state. $35,000 sounds like a rip off.

Best of luck to you!

Stephanie

I think that is "a lot" high! My total program including health screenings, fees, books, uniforms, tuition etc will only be around $4500. Find your local tech school. They have usually been around a long while, have a proven track record, and are affordable!

ABSOLUTELY!!! My school is only around $4,000 (tech school) with everything included (uniforms, books, Insurance, parking ticket...even graduation photos and Nclex exam!) and even the most expensive private school I have ever seen was only about $17,000! I know RN programs that cost half that amount. If I were you I would look into another school...Alot of times you have these private "for profit" schools that pop up and they are usually not even accredited, just trying to make a buck. Even if the school is accredited, many times they have a very low pass rate. It is not the cost of your program that will make the biggest difference when pursuing further education but rather the quality of the program and the amount of dedication put forth on your part. On that note, if you can afford it and, for reasons unbeknownst to us, it is the most convenient option that you currently have, then by all means go for it! But only if it is not a major sacrifice for you and your family and doesn't come at the expense of, say, groceries or car insurance!!

Good Luck!!!

I live in the dc area and my tuition is 11,000. Yes I believe that is too much!!!!

Wow! Way too much!

My school will be around $4500 (tuition+books+uniforms+fee for NCLEX). I'm in East TN...
