$31,500...is that too much for a lpn program?

is it?

thanks,

I think the reason its so shocking to many is because of what you get paywise in our areas when you get out.

In my area, it starts at $13 p/hr (admittedly going up to $28 for a seasoned LPN at a LTC facility) and there is no way I could afford to get into school if it cost that much anyways. My college does not have loans of any kind, so I'd have to pay it out of pocket. I'm very thankful for the situation I have here, and I feel for you all that have to pay so much.

is it up there in price? yes. probably one of the highest.

but there are other things to consider... listen, everything is relative. are there long waits for admittance into other lpn programs in your area? 1 year, 2 years, more?

how much money do you make now as compared to how much you'd make once you become an lpn? is there a significant difference?

if you would have to wait 2 or more years to start a cheaper program, and there is a significant difference in your pay scale once you graduate, then it may be worth the cost to pay the $30,000+ in tuition. it may be more convenient for you to make more money as quickly as possible and afford a better livelihood (especially if you have a family) while making small payments on your student loan, than for you to continue to struggle for another few more years.

however, if you are already comfortable with your salary and your wait to get into another program is less than one academic year, or you're living at home with your parents (or someone else who pays most of the bills) then maybe it would be better for you to wait it out and pay less money.

really every situation is unique. you have to make the choice that's right for you.

just my 2cents.

whoa nelly, that does sound like a lot of money!! My school is strictly a LPN school in Cleveland, and it was around $9,000 not including books, uniforms, and all the other little things they make us pay for....but I'm sure the community college would've been more.

One of the biggest factors in how much your LPN school will cost depends on how much commericial real estate goes for in your area. CA is alot more expensive than OH

ummm, my school is $8000.00 here in Phoenix books and uniforms included, and that is considered expensive here!

Yes it is...i am currently going to ACC paying 30 for the whole year . I didnt do my homework before going there. after i started i asked around and there are way cheaper around 20000 schools which are accredited and with a higher pass rates

wELL YOU BETTER BE GOING FOR YOUR DOCTORATE IN AN LPN PROGRAM. I AM IN A 15 MONTH PROGRAM AND I AM ONLY BEING CHARGED $4050.00 AND THAT IS INCLUDING UNIFORM BOOKS ETC.

PLEASE TRY AND FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE. YOU WOULD BE DOING YOURSELF A GREAT INJUSTICE IF YOU PAY THAT MUCH FOR AN LPN PROGRAM. IT IS NOT WORTH IT.:(
