Some of my classmates are making 21- 22.50hr in LTC., They have 25 pt minimum. I'll stay with agency at $20.00 and work towards my RN with less stress.

I just moved from MI to Charleston, SC. In the Detroit area RN's are making $34 hr with 10 yrs experience in the hospital (plus shift diff), Home Health Care RN's are usually salary, with a car, a gas card, insurance ect., it's salary at $65,000 a year, down here in SC it's a huge pay cut. The RN's are barely clearing $30 hr WITH shift diff in the hospital (per diem is $39.50 hr) and cost of living is much higher in the Charleston area than anywhere in Michigan.

that would be my dream job! I've almost given up applying at hospitals as I thought they did'nt hire LPN's anymore. I'm also from NW Ohio. Can I ask what area? I'm assuming a bigger city like Toledo?

I'm actually at a local county hospital! :), im not sure the Toledo ones are hiring LPN's anymore, from what I've heard from some relatives who work there.
