  1. Thanx for the info. I will definitely pass it on.
  2. Wow congratulations. What school? I know Danville has one also. I would love to pass the info on
  3. Thanks for the heads up but I have been researching that subject and have only one thing to say about their accreditation. As long as I know that the school is approved by the illinois dept of professional regulation which they are then I know I can do two things 1. Work as a rn in illinois and two get an illinois license which is my priority. After I finish ITT I'm going for my BSN at Chamberlain. I'm not woried about the whole magnet hospital thing with the associates degree I will earn at ITT because the BSN program at Chamberlain is NLN and CCNE approved. Besides the few short months I will be working with my associates degree I will still be at my current job. And yes I was in orientation yesterday.
  4. Hello Out There, I would like to know if there are any ITT Tech students from the Chicago area out there. I will be starting there program soon (December 5th) and would like to hear from any of ITTs current nursing students. I know the program began in September of 2010. I was supposed to start a year ago (December 2010) but had my reservations about starting a brand new program. That has all changed. After applying to Wright College's bridge program for LPNs only and not being selected (they had 40 seats and 200 candidates that sucks:uhoh3:), I decided to call ITT Tech back and go ahead with their program. I did really well on the HESI and was told that I didn't have to worry about getting in. So can anyone out there tell me what is it like at the Orland Park Campus. I am dying to hear anything. Of course regardless of what kind of input I get from this thread meaning if it's negative I will take that in consideration but will still be attending. Hey I'm not getting any younger. I've been a LPN for 7 and a half years now and want out of the nursing home NOW. It looks like ITT is my way out. Thanks in Advance :heartbeat
  5. Hi How did you enjoy the nursing classes? I start in December and would love to know how you feel the ITT experience was Thank in advance
  6. hi you should try haymarket or the womens treatment center or westshire google them
  7. Hi, I've been an LPN for the past seven years and I will be starting a RN program this December at ITT Tech in Orland Park, Il. One of my main reasons for going back to school is because I never intended on being an LPN. I took the program because it was easier to get into because the school I went to offer all prerequisites classes in their program. Money is also another reason why I would like to finish my education. I also feel limited. In the Chicago area getting a job in most hospitals require having a RN license. But it's a personal goal. I reached other goals I had set becoming an RN is just one on the list.
  8. Depending on where you live, you might want to check out Chamberlain College of Nursing. I hear they have an excellent 3 yr (maybe 2yr if you have prerequisites like English Comp 1 and Advanced Comp, Psychology 1 and Developmental Psych, Sociology, College Math, Speech, Anatomy and Physiology parts 1 and 2, Chemistry, and Microbiology) BSN program. They start new classes about 3 or 4 times a year. It's expensive but well worth it.
  9. LTC, Chicago suburbs, 25.50 hr , 7yr exp.
  10. I know California has some of the highest paid nurses in the country because of the cost of living but also because they have one of the most difficult NCLEX exams. Illinois is very picky too. It was definitely worth graduating.
  11. THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. I LIVE IN CHICAGO TOO
  12. HELLO EVERYONE, I JUST RECENTLY TOOK THE HESI AT ITT (ACTUALLY ABOUT 5 DAYS AGO). I DID VERY WELL ON THE EXAM. MY OVERALL SCORE WAS A 92.55%. BUT I AM STILL DEBATING ON WHETHER I WILL START IN MARCH AS I PLANNED. I ALSO HAVE THE OPTION OF GOING TO WISCONSIN FOR A 19 MONTH PROGRAM AT A SCHOOL CALLED BRYANT AND STRATTON. I LIVE IN CHICAGO BY THE WAY. AND THE ITT TECH SCHOOL HERE IS IN ORLAND PARK. I HAVE GONE AS FAR AS TO SEND ALL MY TRANSCRIPTS TO BS AND WILL BE TAKING THE TEAS TEST SOON FOR THEM. THEIR CLASS STARTS IN MAY 2011 BUT I WOULD BE FINISHED BY DEC 2012. IF I GO TO ITT I WOULD START IN MARCH 2011 AND FINISH IN MAY 2013. I AM ALREADY A LPN WORKING FOR THE PAST 7 YRS SINCE I GRADUATED. I KNOW THAT ITT IS RIGHT HERE WHERE I AM BUT THE COST OF THE PROGRAM (APPROX. 60,000) IS WHAT IS BOTHERING ME AND THE LENGTH OF TIME 27 MONTHS. I WOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY THAT MUCH BECAUSE I DO HAVE ALOT OF THE GENERAL EDS EXCEPT THE GROUP DYNAMICS (WHATEVER THAT IS) AND ETHICS. I ALSO DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO UPROOT FROM CHICAGO AND GO TO WISCONSIN TO SAVE 20000 BUT I MAY HAVE TO. BS'S PROGRAM IS ABOUT 36000 BEFORE TRANSFER CREDITS AND AFTER I TRANSFER IN MY STUFF I WILL BE PAYING ABOUT 22000. SOUNDS A WHOLE LOT BETTER AND I WOULD FINISH SOONER. I REALLY NEED TO FIGURE OUT WHICH SCHOOL I AM GOING TO.
