I got NCLEX test results today!!

Hello all,

I went against one of the super moderators and decided to take the NCLEX without doing 3000 to 4000 review questions. I felt the earlier I took the test the better. I graduated saluatorian of my class, worked up until about 5months before graduation (August 1, 2005) and I have a son. I had planned on moving my test back, but I couldn't make myself wait another month. I used the online ERI assessment and about 13days b/f the test bought the Saunders book and I answered 50 to 60 questions up until the day a classmate and I left to go to Memphis, TN to take my test. Three days b/f my test is when the anxiety started I had unexplainable abdominal pains, gas and headaches. The night b/f test I didn't sleep well. The morning of the test I got up had a bite to eat and stopped to get a piece of chocolate ( I was told to eat a small piece, before entering and it will increase your score by 10%:uhoh3: ). My nerves were so shot as she was escorting my to computer the tears came, I couldn't help it. She offered me tissue and told me I could sit a minute if I needed to. I begin taking the test and I thought this was the worst mistake of my life. I didn't know any of the answers. It took me two hours to answer 75 questions. I took a break, came back in hoping for at least 100 more questions and the computer shut off at 85, I could have died:crying2:. I didn't have anyquestions on the info they drilled us on @ school on my test. The questions were so specific and detailed. I walked out knowing I had failed. I talked to many classmates and they said,"there you go stressing again, you always do that and make good scores." I told them this is not school. I checked the BON website as soon as I returned home (the same day), knowing there would be no information available. Yesteday I checked and still nothing. I checked to today and it had:

Nurse details, License number, my name, multistate, and status:ACTIVE. I almost died. I could not believe it. I passed. I didn't mention. I lived on this site when I got from testing. Allnurses has helped my make it threw this stressful event. Thanks to all of you!!!!:balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :rotfl:

you did what worked for you, and it was against what i advise for most. you were lucky with it, not all will be with the way that you prepared. i advise on what will work for most, and have a 100% pass record with my system. i also prepare nurses for the nclex-rn and not the nclex-pn normally, but the same technique works.

ps that was a great story, I got a little scared as I read it, thinking you were going to say the worse.....but saw the smilies and knew the story had a happy ending.

super moderator you were right i should have studied more, because it didn't have to go this way. i have micro, sociology, the net and 1 letter of recommedation to complete by march 31, 2006. if all goes well i will be excepted into the june iv theory class(2wks-8hrs a day)and will start lpn to rn bridge program in july and that saunders book will be there with me every step of the way. i will definately study for board long and hard :rolleyes: :p

i have to fine study material for the net asap.

Hi! That sounds like what happened to me - slightly different. It was March 4, 2005. After taking the exam, it shut off after 99 questions. I went home. Cried a little bit on the phone while talking to my mom. I was so depressed. I didn't feel good about it. Checked the Iindiana department of health regulation website a couple hours later... just for the heck of it.

It had my name. it said ACTIVE SINCE MARCH 4, 2005 on it and then had my license number!!!!!!!!!!!

I will never forget that feeling - its so funny to talk about it with your nursing school classmates cause we always get hysterical!! =)

Hi, congrats on passing the NCLEX. That must be such a wonderful feeling! I didn't know you could get results that fast. I'll be taking it at the end of January 2006, what tips do you guys have to offer? I have the Saunders book, and I'm waiting for my Lippincott book to arrive any day now. I also have a Lippincott book specific for med-surg questions. It's hard to juggle my preceptorship, classes, and NCLEX review time, so I need all the helpful tips I can get! Have any of you done the Kaplan test prep, and do you recommend it? I was thinking of doing it here in San Francisco in early January.

my friend shut off at 88 and passed usually i thought you shut off at 85 or 205 and anything in between you failed?? i had a friend shut off at 136 and i dont know the results? how does this thing work??

I have no clue how it works...! That's why I was crying after it shut off after 99 - I thought I had failed since my other friends either went just until 85 or all the way to 205 - and passed! On the other hand, my friend failed and it shut off on her after 100... so I am quite confused myself in the grading system for the NCLEX...

First I want give you Kuddo's for jumping on the gun and just doing it. Most of my class are getting so stressed out about not knowing one answer that they forget the bigger picture. One of my instructors gave me some excellent advise that I had to take for myself. She said that I am and will always be foulable. For me, Mr. Perfect, that was the hardest pill to take, but in doing so life gets so much sweeter. I know, bla bla bla... just be proud of what you have accomplished and keep on learning.
