Hello all, sorry if this seems like a daft question. I just want to have a time-frame so I would have an idea when to book my return ticket.

Where I come from, it almost takes 3 hours by coach to London :o , and I was booked at 9am.

Your responses are highly appreciated .Thanks! :monkeydance:

And oh, a few pointers would make it even better, Cheers.

that's what I have heard, to be prepared to be there for a few hours and take a good book, to be there less time is a bonus

I was there for hours and hours it must have been a bad day. My son went seperatly and was in and out within a couple of hours

our interview was at 8am, we stayed the night before and got a taxi to the embassy for 7.30am. we joined the queue and because of the type of visa that we were applying for were called forward at the opening time of 8am. so we were in the first few inside. we were there for a few hours, but that included leaving to get visa photographs taken for the passports, which wa within walking distance of the embassy, and then at that time we went for our medical which was also not too far away. we had to have the medical and then return there for results, so the whole day was done by about 2pm.

The whole family was there 30min earlier than appointed time. We're in queu for about 40min outside the bldg for security check. Only to wait for your turn to be called for interview inside the embassy is longer. After, we did fingerscanning, consul checked all proper documents, interviewed for few minutes and asked us to purchase SMS delivery mail for visas... It is about 2.5 hrs depending on your circumstances or number of applicants that day... Just to give you a tip... Bring all the required "original documents" whether new or old especially your contracts, police clearance etc to avoid delay. Good luck!

We finally went on July 25 (Wednesday), our appointment was at 9:30 but we were allowed in an hour early. The embassy was inundated with non-immigrant visa applicants (400+ and going when I left), there were only less than 30 immigrant visa applicants. Anyway, hubby and I stayed for a total of almost 5 hours at the embassy, we missed the train I booked at 1:30pm so we went home by coach instead.

Glad to hear that you finally got thru it. When do you plan to make the trip over?
