I was just reading a Thread fo Hourly rates for LPN's and realized that it was from 2000. I could not believe how low they were! So I'm from MA, I currently work in a Nursing Home I have Associate Degree in Nursing. My hourly rate for a shift 3-11 is 24.50/hr, On weekend is 25.25 as new grad. For LPN is 19.00/HR new grad. On Sep 8th I will be working in a Hospital and I will be making 28.50/hr 3-11shift and after 6months it goes up .50cents/hr. I think is pretty good considering that I will be considered as a new grad in Acute medical floor. I graduated in june of 2007, so I don't have any experience at all when it comes to acute.

let me know your hourly rate and your state! Just curious!!!:nurse:

LTC New Grad RN in Houston TX: $24.50

No shift differential

No benefits (WAY too expensive, so I opted out)

No extra holiday pay, but they do put 8 hours in PTO for you

East TN...

NEW GRAD RN = $20 ph LTC / $18 ph HOSPITAL

NEW GRAD LPN - $14 ph LTC / $12 ph HOSPITAL

CNAs = $8 - $10 ph

$1 - 1.50 ph for shift diff.

You can generally add 3% to the above figures for each year of experience, up to 10 years. So basically a new hire LPN with 10+ years exp. at a LTC would top out at $17ph base pay.

Benefits are expensive, and not that great

I'm in Central NJ and my LTC facility (privately owned) pays the following for new grads:

LPN = $25/hr

RN = $33/hr

CNA = ?

Both positions get $1 shift differential and time and a half for holidays (only 3 are recognized as holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day).

this is my ltc facility (county owned) in central new jersey:

rn (new grad) = $28-$30 per hour (3-11 shift)

lpn (new grad) = $23-$24 per hour (3-11 shift)

cna = about $10.50 per hour

also, excellent medical/dental benefits (no copays for anything except $3 for any prescription). no medical benefits deduction just union dues ($26/pay period-biweekly). gets 3x pay for holidays. so on labor day, thanks giving eve/day, christmas eve/day, new year eve/day, etc...i'll make $90/hour. :smokin:

you guys should also factor the benefits when calculating the pay.

angel, rn

i want to work there!!

Rhode Island

Associate Degree RN- 8 years experience -29.00 per diem

Usually rates are between $26-30 for long term care.

Med tech make about 11.00-12.00 at my place and CNAs start at 9.00 and go up to 13.00

Salaries can vary quite a bit in RI for LTC, we have many nursing homes. I can't quote any Rhode Island hospital salaries.

I'm a new grad RN working on a sub-acute unit in LTC in NH.

19.00/hr base

3.00/hr unit diff

2.00/hr eve diff

3.00/hr night diff

not sure about weekend diff

agldragonRN and Jag815, could you both please tell me where the facilities you both are employed at are located?? Perhaps I can apply there being that they actually hire new grads and I live in Staten Island so traveling there wont be too hectic.

Thanks in Advance!!!!:nurse:
