I can't believe it. I have read in the past I wouldn't hear until the end of March or April to know if I was accepted. To my very happy surprise, I got my letter in the mail today! Let the games begin.....anyone else here from GPC? Good luck to you all!

You will have to start over. I think it's 30 to the 2nd and then 6 months to the 3rd, double check me! I'm sure you'll be fine. Most schools allow you to waive Hep B all together, so it shouldn't been an issue if you're mid-series.

From what I understand, as long as you have the second shot completed and can prove this to the school, you will be fine. Just have to give them proof you completed the series once they are complete.

Ok great, thanks! I was really worried because I read the third shot is given 6 months after the first and the deadline is the end of July.

I had my first Hep B shot 12 years ago and never continued the series. My Dr told me I needed to restart the series.

Hello everyone! I have been reading posts on this website for months and finally decided to join. I've been accepted into the nursing program at GPC for Fall 2013; I'm excited about that! However, I've been accepted to GSU for the fall, and would like to try to get into their ACE nursing program for Spring 2014...am I crazy to consider giving up my spot at GPC to go through another acceptance process at GSU, not knowing whether or not I'll get in?

I only consider this option because I can earn my bachelor degree at GSU in the same time frame as earning my associate degree at GPC. I'm spinning my wheels here, because on one hand it sounds like a great idea, but on the other hand it's a HUGE risk!

What do you all think? What would you do?

My stats, btw...

GPA 4.0 (program and overall)

TEAS 83 (which I would retake, to get a higher score for GSU)

I appreciate any feedback!

How long is the ace program? I think your GPA is awesome and you already have a good teas score so I think your chances of getting accepted are pretty high, but I'm not familiar on how competitive gsu is. Why are you not attending gsu for fall since you're already accepted? Im also worried about not getting a bachelors degree but gpc was the only place I applied. I read somewhere on here once before that gpc is getting an online RN to bsn program soon so that will be my plan once I graduate, I just hate having to spend even more time in school.

I know thats a hard decision though, I would figure out how much time you'd be saving and see if its worth the risk to you.

Thanks for your reply! GSU is highly competitive and it's nerve-wrecking! Lol! My TEAS score is actually on the lower end, compared to their admission stats. I am on the brink of a big decision! :blink:

I know of people that have started and switched. That way not all your eggs are in one basket. Good luck.

I was wondering also if that was an option. That is probably what I would do personally, I would be to afraid to take that risk.

I think it's kind of selfish to take up a spot another student could have. But that's just my humble opinion. I understand you want your BSN but if you are going to start a program you should finish it. Do a bridge program or something.

Just an FYI. Even if she drops now another student will not be accepted. . Gpc gets to there number different from other schools. There are other students that start and transfer. And there are no hard feelings from the teachers. Only wishes of good luck.

You have awesome stats! I would def take the TEAS only since GSU wants high 80s-90s range. I understand your dilemma because I was faced with the same decision but ultimately gave up my GPC spot before hearing from my first choice. Because nursing school in general is difficult to get in, start at GPC and work towards transferring. I heard its much easier to transfer.
