:stone I swear........I don't know if I'm just getting older or what, but it seems like in everyone of my classes for the past 2 semesters there is ONE........you know........one person who either isn't listening or belongs under that diagnosis...."to stupid to live".....

:nono: ok, I know that was so WRONG of me to say, but at 40 years old, and trying my best to bridge over to RN, I don't have time for petty BS....

Does anyone know what I mean? And I wonder, how does she pass? I mean, come on.....This one girl.......had two buddies with her.......one of them didn't make it thru......(and I DON"T wish failing on anyone)........and I thought maybe just maybe she would learn to keep her mouth shut....after all.......everyone in the class was rude to her....but.......now into the 3 weeks of school...........she is still at it.........I don't PMS so I can't blame it on that, and I DO take my hormones........but.....OMG:devil: , I feel like strangling her!

It doesn't help me any that she is young, and blonde...........OMG....:roll

there are several in my class....

I just had my first day of clinicals so I can't say that I have found one in my class........yet.

But my clinical instructor was telling our class yesterday that last year she had a 2nd year student (it's a two year program) that when she (the instructor) asked "Is this the right medication to give this paitent?" the student replied "yeah, it's was the only one in the drawer."

Eeeekkkksssss!!!!!!!!

Has she asked if she can copy your notes yet? LOL!

I think there is ONE in every class.....lol They drive me nuts and I dont know how they get through anything!

All classes have em....

I don't really mind the dumb ones (b/c they're not going to make it very far), it's the know-it-alls that tick me off. The ones that analyze EVERYTHING to death and always ask questions that are way beyond the scope of the current objectives. They are the first ones to ask questions and keep getting the instructor off the subject so as to leave the rest of us completely confused. Oh yeah, and they're always the ones that have seen everything, had every possible diagnosis.....We've got a couple in my section (you could spot em the first day).

LOL,

Our class had several....now we are down to one! The others finally caught a clue and wised up. What I don't understand is why do you work so hard to get into a program, then not work on your studies? If the course work is too difficult and you earned your "C" than I think that is great...You did what you could and put effort into it. What I don't understand is not working and being "OK" with a poor grade. I freaked when I got a "B" and required several hours of handholding from my school mates...good thing they have that nurse empathy thing going on.....

So our "one" that is left, eats constantly during class, and left a three foot radius (I kid you not) of trash in her wake......She is disrespectful to our one instructor, kisses major butt with the others....Fortunately they aren't buying into it....Our instructors communicate with each other constantly. At 39 I could strangle her too.

Oh well Dianne, we feel your pain. I don't want anyone to fail either but by the same token, if I walked into a facility and saw this girl working there, I would turn around and walk right out....

Tres

who really has to study......test (again, what again? we have tests daily.....)

Yep, I have 2 in my class. They are so stupid that I don't even know how they got in the program in the first place. This is our last semester, and although I do not wish failure upon anyone, I sure wouldn't feel comfortable with either one of them being my nurse. They have stuck it out all 4 semesters, never study, and pass by the skin of their teeth. I wonder how they do it???

I think it is a course requirement. Each course has to have one stupid person. Even my online class has stupid people. One went so far as to post her homework on the discussion board, right after the instructor told her to email it to her. What a winner. There are a few dim bulbs in my anatomy class that is on campus. I don't know how these people manage to be able to complete a whole day of activities. ugh!

I was hoping that once I started Nursing IV on Sept 2nd & would lose her. We are all breaking up into different groups of 10. I figured that i would have to be with one of my 3 study buddies! But of course not.... My first rotation is maternity, then psych, then peds. She is going to be going through my next two semesters right along with me!!! ARRRRGHHHH! She is sooo annoying, even with personal things. I had Mono last fall & we happened to be covering Mono one day. Everyone knew I had it but in the middle of lecture she would announce stupid stuff directed at me!!! To make matters worse she is my husband's friend wife! So I gotta be kind of nice!!! I don't know if I can tolerate her until May!!! Wish me luck!

My instructor was telling us the other day about one student who wouldn't buy a watch for clinicals. He said he'd use the clock in the patient's room? She asked what would happen if the patient was in the hall for some reason, he said that he'd use the patients watch if he needed to check the pulse. Makes you wonder where these people came from.

At my school no watch for clinical means no clinical. They told us that they would understand once about a forgotten item or having wrong shoes etc but only one then it is go home and miss the clinical. Two misses for wrong uniform or req items you are out of the program.
