I am so bummed!

I was all set to head back to school this month, but due to possible changes in our family situation, I am going to wait until the spring semester. My husband has a possible job offer in another city - the company that wants him is in the process of reorganizing to "create" the position they want him for, so there is no definite date for him to start and us to move! We talked about it and he knows how let down I am, but told me that if he doesn't hear something definite by the end of the year, I can start again in January.

It's just so hard when you've psyched yourself up to go back to school and then find out you're not going Please tell me that one semester isn't going to matter!

Thanks for letting me vent/cry!! I'm 32 y.o., and have wanted to finish what I started when I was 18. This is all I've really ever wanted to do - so many tried to persuade me to choose another career & I did, but just wasn't happy. My mother worked in the ER for 25 of her 33 yrs as an RN & "way" back when, I used to go to work with her and watch in amazement how truly awesome she was/is!!

Don't get discouraged...I am sure that the spring semester will be here before you know it... In the meantime cherish your time off -- think of it as an extended vacation or something... Stick with it, you'll get there :).

If you are still doing prerequisites, consider an online or correspondence course! Then you still have your hand in!

I concur. You'll be fine, enjoy your time off. Easier said than done, I know.

Our first semester in the nursing program, my friend's husband had a similar job offer. He was going to move to SC to take this great job, and she was going to stay here with her 3 sons and finish school. Nursing credits simply don't transfer well.

I wish you luck... hopefully everything will work out with your husband and you'll be back to school before you know it.

Online courses are a great way to keep it going. I almost had to change my mind about going back to school also because of finances, daycare, etc. but I think I have everything worked out now, after stressing for about 3 months! But hang in there, it will work out. I am 32 also, isn't this scary, returning to school? But I truly love it!!!

i had to withdraw from an rn program this pass spring because of personal reasons, but, i am starting another rn program august 26. yes, i was unhappy but, i feel like i am "renewed" and am ready for the task. there seems to be obstacles when one is pushing for higher heights, but, keep the faith.

1 semester isn't going to make a big difference. I missed the sign up for my classes by one month, and had to wait almost an entire year to re-do!

So hang in there....I know there's alot of downfalls, but you can do it!

I am sorry. When I feel ill the same thing happened to me. I didn't let it get me down. I decided to make the most of the time off and went to work as a CNA. I also worked as a PCT in a hospital. Gave me great experience. Good luck to you and hang in there.

I've had to push back my ADN twice now (i'm calling it the 5 year 2-year degree hehehhe). Not thrilled, but it's giving me time to get the non-nursing classes completely out of the way.

No matter what your faith, things happen for a reason. Enjoy the break and know that you'll be where you need to be when the time is right.

Hang in there. No one semester won't matter. I had to withdraw from classes a year ago because we moved half-way across the country. I thought about online courses, but moving was just too hectic with a hubby and two kids. January will be here before you know it :kiss

i am sorry that you have to wait an additional semester. i am sure it is frustrating.
