how many tries?

Cynthia- I think you should have a much better chance next year and if you dont *I* will start to worry about me getting in as well! I am going to apply for the Spring (though I doubt I will have enough points to get in, Im just going to apply anyways) but surely by next fall I should get in- I will have 130-something points!

Thanks, we took another test today and I made a 94.

It's hard not to think about how the minimum cut off keeps going up every semester. If I don't get in for spring, it will take me 4 years to finish an ADN. All I can do is hope for the best, can't do much more at this point as far as points.

I got accepted on the first try.....but I did have all of my pre-req's completed. I have heard now that the waiting list is backed up to 2005....so I feel quite lucky to have gotten in when I did. I'm sure you'll make it on the next go around now that you'll have anatomy out of the way. I really think it is smart to try to get all of the pre-reqs out of the way. Not only do you use what you learn in those classes, but you also will have more time to focus on the nursing classes. Good luck to you!!!!!!

I got in the first try as well but I also have a B.S. already and had all my prereqs done. It depends on the school I guess. At university (alot of them but not all), there is no waiting period to get into the nursing program. You either get accepted or you don't. Your high school work is taken into account not prereqs. But most of the two year programs here, often have lottery systems(where it does not matter if you are a straight A student) or require you to have all prereqs done with a min. grade of C. I don't think connecticut schools use point systems. I'm sure this probably doesn't help you out------but anyway, good luck to you in the future!!! Pokey SN

I got accepted to all three schools I applied to on the first try-one of the schools didn't even make me take an entrance examination. But hey, I guess that's Canada for you-this place is thirsty for nurses....

I got in on my first try but had all my pre-reqs and other non-nursing classes out of the way. That was my plan all along to get all my ducks in a row so all I had to concentrate on was my nursing classes.

With the school I am hoping to get into, they go by Priority Points based on grades. You have to apply over a YEAR in advance and HOPE YOU GET IN. They do have a waiting list. You just DO NOT KNOW if you will get in, or what your chances are until you get the letter. I believe I read they have 178 positions and over 200 applicants.
