Wow! I knew people cheated, but really??? I was just glancing over health care jobs and found this. Not really what I had in mind for a job. What is wrong with people?

Looking for Medical Student or LPN/RN Student

I'm a nursing student taking nursing courses online. Looking for a Medical Student or RN.

I need a creative writer skilled in research and composition and APA formatting needed to ghostwrite nursing school coursework. This is a regular gig. Each week, writer will be required to research and compose two APA-formatted discussion board answers of approximately 300 -400 words each, as well as four APA-sourced and formatted responses(150 words) to other peer postings. Occasionally, writer will be expected to complete additional written paper assignments 3 pages long. I do not need an editor. Only mature individuals need respond.

I'm sorry, you're all right, I was in error.

I completely agree with all of you. This person should be thrown out of school, immediately. It is my greatest hope that their license is revoked, and that their career ends this very instant.

Moral of the story: Don't disagree with the majority.

The issue here is that by not doing the assignments themselves, they will lack the knowledge that was suppose to be gained by the exercise. I just finished a Leadership class that required a 200 word journal entry about the topic of the week (patient rights, confidentiality, delegation, etc) including a citation from a journal article. It helped me focusing on researching Evidence Based Practice issues once I become a nurse. Hopefully, those kinds of exercises will make me a better nurse.

By having someone else do the work for them: they are plagiarizing someone else's work. Once someone takes a shortcut and gets away with it, they are more likely to shortcut something else, like paient care until they get caught.

I would send a link to the head of the nursing department.
I've just finished my RN to BSN courses (yea!!) so I'm familiar with the process. There is no way to know which one of dozens of reputable, legitimate online RN to BSN programs out there this ad-writer is in. More information would be needed.

Also; a later poster cautioned that the ad-writer would be in trouble if the college used online plagiarism-prevention programs. Not true from what we know. Those programs only identify matches with other written material. The programs would have no way to detect who wrote the paper as long as it was original & hadn't been turned in for another student (or previously published).

It's not just nursing students. It's society in general.
I sat next to a young lady a few days ago during a 3 hour plane ride. She was working on a paper for a class (she wants to be a psychologist) I watched her open up and glance through numerous articles , copy and paste repeatedly and then go back and "rewrite" each sentence in her own words. For her bibliography she went to amazon.com and searched the subject of the paper and cited every hit as a source (even though she did not purchase and read any of them) It was pretty amazing.

I would liked to of helped this person, if I could. If I couldn't, then I would of done everything in my power to ensure that they do not continue down a path of destruction that could ultimately lead to risking the safety of their patients. If that means that I would have to report them, then so be it. But I would have at least given them a chance to come back from that destructive path... if I'm the only one, then I guess it is what it is. Whether or not that will change in the future, no mortal can say.

I'm just curious. Hypothetically what do you think this person's response would be to your help? Do you think they would recognize the error of their ways and change their outlook because of some comments and advice from you. Or is it possible that their character is already tarnished because of a pattern of making selfish choices? This could be the moment when their actions are catching up to them. Why do you feel the need to save this person from their own bad behavior. Aren't adults expected to take responsibility for their actions? Isn't there another thread going about the 16 year old who killed several people in a DUI and only got probation? He clearly isn't taking responsibility for his actions. Do you think the victims families feel great that he gets time outside of jail to think of all the ways he went wrong without actually facing any consequences?

That being said, she deserves a higher grade that the person in question in this post, sadly.

Yes they only cheat themselves...they are in school....so they are losing out on education. If by chance there is a way of this person makong it out of nursing school then it will ultimately be the patient that suffers!!!!!!!

But FOR NOW BOSTONFNP...... since they are still in school.....their cheating is hurting them!!!!!

You need to take the internet less seriously. As you pointed out, cheating hurts far more than just them.
