What's the easiest job you've ever had?

Mine was postpartum. I couldn've believe that we got paid the same as ICU/ER nurses! Note: Easiest job and favorite job are not necessarily synonymous! :nurse:

Paying medical claims on a computer when all I had to do was review the claim to determine if the computer generated the correct payment. Easy, but very boring.

Ohh, you meant an easy nursing job? I did a stint doing flu vaccinations a few years ago.

I'm sure the one I have now is going to be the easiest - giving flu shots. Sit, sit, sit, give a shot and do some paperwork, sit, sit, sit, get bored, read, sit, give another shot. Yawn.

im pretty sure she is talking about NURSING, not delivering pizzas while smoking weed:smokin:. mine is my weekend Tx / wound care nurse , prob because im on my own , i come in when i want more or less work 8 house and go home , dont have to deal with a ton of paper work or any other drama

Easiest job as a nurse? I worked third shift for an agency who sent me out to pretty much baby sit a very well run alzhiemers unit. The dayshift RNs did absolutely everything and all meds were given before I even came in. There was one CNA for like every 7 -10 patients. They were a locked unit with 35 beds and not all were full and some were spouses without dementia who were helpful mostly. I did things like change hearing aide batteries and there were a few people on the potty schedule who would ask for tylenol when they got up but they seemed so happy for the most part..the hardest part of the job...staying awake.

PACU. piece o' cake. The CRNAs did most of it. They had control issues, lol. They preferred to do most of the recovery themselves. I said, "hey, have at it." I was job sharing, and worked 4 hours 1 day a week for a nurse who had no childcare Monday morning until her husband got home from his weekend job. I'd sit there filing my nails from 7am until the first cases closed, usually just after 8. Then I did nothing but observe (didn't even have to record them, the computer did that) vital signs, very rarely gave any meds and sometimes phoned a report. 9 times out of ten the CRNAs gave any meds they wanted and phoned report themselves.

PLUS, no families were permitted in there. The patients were rarely conscious yet, so had few complaints. It was quiet, cheerful, collegial. ;) It was awesome (you should read that as me singing it like John Stewart, lol) At 11am the nurse I was filling in for would arrive, and I went home. Or out to lunch, shopping, the movies. Yup, it was awesome.
