I was chatting with a friend who is an RN in Canada (I'm NOT playing the RN card as opposed to just saying nurse---I don't think Canada has LPN's--I could be wrong--and don't want to offend anyone!) and she was saying that the yearly cost of her license is going up by $100 to $566---per year!

It made me curious as to what the "going rate" is around the US for license renewal?

In WI it's $88 (I think!) for a 2 year licensure--how about where you practice?

I'm a Canadian LPN who pays $350 a year. It includes our .

Canada does indeed have LPNs and a rare and exotic nursing creature called the Registered Psychatric Nurse.

Different provinces charge different rates.

One state is $100 a year.

OK!!! Thanks for clearly that up for me---I truly wasn't sure =( I know she's in Nova Scotia....

I think it is $60 in Texas, not counting the 20 contact hours needed for renewal. Dosen't matter. I have to pay regardless

GA LPN $65, no CEUs needed. I cant wait to see how much for my RN license :)

GA RN $65 this year I think, exp 2015. I know it wasn't more than that. NSO malpractice $110/year.

I have licenses in 8 states (and no, I'm not in a Compact state) and it costs me approximately an arm and a leg every two years. But if in Canada you get your license plus , that's a good deal. My primary state license is $120/2 years and my malpractice is about $300 per year (I'm an independent contractor, so it's different). That works out to about $360 per year, not so bad. A dollar a day for a living and insurance? I'll take that.

I paid 410$ for 1 year in Canada, which includes malpractice ins and sales tax >.>

When I last renewed my RN licence in Quebec, Canada, it had jumped up 20% to 411$ for ONE year. I don't know if it included , never really looked into it. Canadians, or at least Quebecers, are not as litigation happy as Americans are.

For my original licensing in GA, expiring in April 2014 (2 years) it cost me 60$.

Oh yea, and that 20% jump in fee? You know how the OIIQ (Quebec Order of Nurses) justified it? The building where they are located, which is in one of the most expensive parts of Montreal, and also one of the oldest, needed renovations. So instead of moving to a different building, they felt it was fair to charge all of us nurses to fix it. And then they wonder why Quebec is known for being the most corrupt province....

I recently renewed my California RN license for $140 for two years.

I pay $110 in Texas every two years to renew two licenses: $60 for the RN license and $50 for the LVN licensure.

If I recall correctly, the renewal fee was $40 every two years in Oklahoma.

$90 every 2 years in Idaho, no CE required.
