Nurses General Nursing

Okay, I've never been on here before.

This is just a question.

I want to be a nurse because of the pay.

I need to support a family and the pay in Arkansas for certain types of nurses sounds amazing.

But is there a nursing job that's very easy but pays alot here in arkansas?

I don't want to be on call and I'm not sure about working on weekends & holidays.

So what do you guys think?

Not to put too fine of a point on it but I think nursing is not the profession for you.

Arkansas isn't as backwards as people think. I graduated May 2015 and I'm currently making more money than the Bureau of Labor Statistics lists for average RN pay.

I hear Sam Walton's family did pretty well ... not as nurses, though.

Taking this as a serious question (though I've got my doubts).

I'm one of those who doesn't believe that nursing requires a "calling". However, I think there does have to be just a little bit more than just the money aspect. Does nursing actually interest you, even if only in a small way? If not, I definitely wouldn't suggest nursing. There is no such thing as an easy nursing job, just some that fit certain people better. Just like I'd never make it on med/surg, it's not my cup of tea. OR nursing isn't easy, but it fits my personality, strengths, and interests.

Not really, especially those no nights no weekends no holidays no call nursing gigs.

Arkansas is beautiful and a great state but many areas aren't well known for their high paying jobs. Of course cost of living is lower, so it works out.

Well, I'm certainly not in the "nursing is a calling" camp but you have to kind of be a little bit interested in it for a reason other than money...or you will run screaming from your first job having wasted all that time and money in school.

In order to get those really easy jobs that pay "alot" and don't require nights, weekends or holidays, you have to put in your time in those really difficult jobs that pay about average and DO require nights, weekends and holidays.

Are you interested in nursing or just trying to start something?

I can succinctly say nursing is not for the OP, nothing to see here people let's just move on.
