The Little Things That Excite Us!

:) I know this will sound very small to those of you who are "experienced" but here it goes. Friday I finally heard my little thump thumps in my stethoscope learning how to take a blood pressure, and on my lunch hour me and a fellow student went to our local hospital to try and get jobs as patient care tech's(aka nurses aides) and got the jobs! This is the first real job since 1984 I have gotten(I always worked for my ex on and off at our company). God, I must be easy to please in my old age! And to top everything off, even though my grades could be better, LPN school is great. The poop isnt that bad! Of course I haven't had flem yet! Sorry guys, couldnt find off topic for this thread!!!!;)

Thump, thump????? What about the squish, squish....or the ka-slurp, ka-slurp. Those thumps are the slamming shut of those heart values, and the squeeze of the myocardium (heart muscles).

Hey there! I remember hearing those sounds, for the first time! My achilles heel was palpating a radial pulse. It took a few tries on my instructors before they realized what I was doing. I was pressing so firmly (trying not to miss the pulse) that I was occluding theirs, and counting mine! :-( But, that passed, and I got the hang of it.

Keep working hard, and being pleased at the little things! After all, life is composed of a lot more little things than big ones!
