Hello... Was wondering about follow Floridians preparing for the hurricane.

I am in OCala, which is north central florida.. Went to the store tonight and boy..... NO BREAD, NO WATER, NO CANNED FOOD, NO BATTERIES in nearly any stores in our area... finally found what I wanted after several stops... No gas in most stations. Hurricane is expected to hit Florida saturday. It will be even harder to get gas tomorrow as the storm gets closer. Our busiest streets have businesses all boarded up, and the schools are closed for tomorrow.

I have several home care patients to see tomorrow, and hope I can get more gas after I end my day. It seems so strange that the day is so hot and beautiful, yet there is a viscious monster out there that will devastate many lives and homes in a short time.

Courious how the preparation is taking place in your part of the state.....

This storm looks like it needs to be taken seriously. Around here, many people went through the preparation for Charley and it never even caused a rain drop in our area, therefore people seem to think that since Charley was not a threat, that Francis will not be either...

Francis seems furocious!! God Bless all who are preparing for this one....

I live in Miami so I'm okay. I just hope that it's stalling doesn't give it a chance to strengthen. Also, it's terrible for those in the Bahamas and so on because of the terential downpours and flooding since it's hanging over them for so long. :o

I'm here in northern Pinellas, near Clearwater. Worried about a friend in Jupiter. Thursday night SNFs in Clearwater started taking in pts in from the west coast. This thing looks like a monster. Skies are eerrie here and we are worried about the winds.

I work for Home Quality Management as a CNA. This company was started in Florida and most of the facilities owned by them are in Florida. When Charlie hit we had one facility that was a complete loss and two that were severly damaged. I am praying for the safety of everyone in Florida. I can't even begin to imagine doing resident care in a shelter. Praying for the safety of everyone in the path of Frances.

:o Fort Myers here...just alot of heavy wind and rain. Were not going to exp. what we did with Charlie. Seems this one is going up the coast. Problem is you never know if things change suddenly. Hope everyone is safe. I hated losing power for 6 days after Charlie. Toward the end of the week after we couldn't even find ice.

North Pinellas here.

I'm delighted that I woke up to find that the power's still on.

One of my relatives lives in Palm Bay, where Frances made landfall. Of course, they evacuated a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, Frances' new track takes it across where they're staying now. Hope they don't have to evac again due to flooding. :uhoh21:

Christina -- How bad did it hit the Miami area? Curious to hear what it was like after we left.

Thanks!

Hello,

I haven't been able to get in contact with my friend in Jupiter. Can anybody tell me how bed they got hit? She didn't evacuate and looked like they were in the eye at about 1am last night.

Was in Clearwater last year while visiting my friend from Jupiter. Fell in love with your city. How bad did you get hit by Charley?
