Just another example of nurses going above and beyond for their patients. I still have tears in my eyes.
4-year-old cancer patient ‘marries’ nurse at Albany Med
Creepy? Sheesh...I married my dad a bunch of times, after he kissed me to wake me up from a 100-year sleep. I was 4-5 yrs old at the time.
I know. I mean, come on, the little girl has cancer. Who knows how long she may have? She has a little girl crush on her nurse. Nothing pervvy going on.
When I was about 5 I had a crush on an older man who was single and attended our congregation. I was adamant that when I grew up, we were going to get married. In my little girl mind, I would get older, but he would stay the same. But he broke my heart and married someone else.
That was the beginning of my preference for older men.

I don't think it's pervy.
I never had the older man crush thing. OH, wait, I was in love with Pa Ingalls.
Creepy? C'mon, she's 4. It isn't about the nurse or the crush, it's about the wedding.
Preschoolers aren't aware or hormonal enough to have actual crushes. It's all about the wedding, not the groom. Like all little girls, she probably just dreamed of feeling like a real life princess.
I've heard of this happening a bunch of times in peds onc. Unfortunately, some of these little girls will never grow old enough to have a real wedding. As a PP said, they could 'marry' a cardboard cutout of a celebrity (or a nurse, a stuffed animal, Santa Clause, etc.) and it would still fulfill that 'real life princess' dream.
The post title makes it sound a little creepy (I was imagining an adolescent patient in a Mary Kay Letourneau situation...which I have actually heard of before...yuck). This just seems sweet.

I agree it has a creep factor.
I was liking it for the hot nurse.
