Nursing schools where there is no waiting period

dear all:

i am trying to get into the nursing program after finishing my pre-req

classes. wherever i go, there is a long waiting period to get into these

programs and i am running around to find schools where there is no waiting

list or a very minimal waiting list. i am sure there are many students who

are looking for this information.

can you help me and students like me to compile a list of schools within

united states (any states) or canada where the waiting list does not exist ? i am sure there are many students and faculty who are part of this

allnurses.com forum and we can create such a list.

please also mention if there is a fast-track program for 4-year bachelor's

degree holder. i heard of few schools such as university of calgary,

canada where they offer 2 year fast-track program for bn if you already

have a bachelor's degree and completed few pre-req classes.

thanks a million to everybody !

here is my list:

1. university of calgary have 2 year bn program for 4-year college

graduate. visit the following link:

Jan, I got into my program immediately, NCCC.edu . However, others have been wait-listed.

If your grades are high you should get right in.

Specializes in Surgical/Telemetry.

Hmm, all of the BSN schools in Portland, OR have competitive admissions, not waiting lists. They offer 2-year BSN transfer programs and 18-month programs for second degree students.

Specializes in NICU.

I don't think Loma Linda has a wait list (at least I haven't heard of one) and they admit a new class every quarter. I am in their fast-track program which lasts for 7 quarters if you already have a BS in another field. Their website is http://www.llu.edu/llu/nursing/

Good luck!

My school doesn't maintain a waiting list, acceptance is strictly based on GPA and prerequisites. http://www.discovernursing.com , the Johnson & Johnson Nursing website has a list of schools with no wait list, you might check them out. Good luck!

My school (University of New Brunswick - Fredericton campus) has no waiting list, provided that you have good grades (average of 85% or higher for pre-req high school courses...not sure how it works for mature students). They have a set number of students they take in each year (35 high school students, 35 mature students) though, and there is a waitlist for those who don't have quite as good marks. There is also a fast-track program for those with previous university education, although I don't know very much about it.

They also work the pre-reqs (like anatomy and physiology) into the actual program, so you don't necessarily need them to begin with.

Hey there -

I just completed a 16 month RN licensure program for post-baccs at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH. No waiting list, but very $$. The program is actually designed to prepare Advanced Practice Nurses and DNP's within 4-5 years. The first part (just finished) is full-time and the rest can be done on a part or full time basis. Hope this helps you, Shayna:rolleyes:

wow !! The response was wonderful ! You guys are the best !!

Try Central Texas College in Killeen Texas. It is a community college that offers a 2 year ADN. I don't think there is a waiting list.

I attend University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Nursing in the BSN program; there is no waiting list. Also, it is supposed to be a top 10 according to US News (I don't exactly know what they are rating us on tho).

In fact none of the schools here had waiting lists.

Towson, UMaryland, AACC and a few others

Specializes in Adolescent Psych, PICU.

There is no waiting lists at either The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center or The University of Central Oklahoma....both are very competitive to get into though.
