  1. Animals do not talk back. And, many wag their tail when they're happy. I'm just saying...
  2. Pressing the Ganey!
  3. Took the nasal dose. No problems.
  4. try google. go to google, then at top of screen should be a "more" link, click it and a drop down box appears. from this drop down box, choose the last item "even more", and from the page that appears, choose scholar. i have used this for research and had good results. good luck, etnguy
  5. I agree that unless you are an educator, it's not that important. With that being said, Congratulations on your new degree and all of the hard work that went into getting it. As for your question, the accepted format is "New nurse, RN, BSN" Again, congratulations. Welcome to nursing. ETNGuy
  6. As of May, 2007, New grads started at 18.00 per hour plus differential. There was a sign on bonus for 10K in some areas such as med-surg but you had to commit to 4 years and if you leave - it wasn't prorated. Each 1 year experience nets 1% to base. It may have changed by now. Hope this helps.

Our school uses HESI as a graduation requirement as well. As I understand it, the questions are weighted and that accounts for the vast difference in scores that people receive. Our score comes up instantly so you know if you passed or not. Does your school not give the score immediately? 850 was passing for us as well. People tell me that have taken NCLEX that HESI was more difficult. I sure hope that is the case because it was a bear of a test. Good luck with your score.
  8. Roonlex, East Tenn pay seems to be not less than most on TN ( See thread on starting salaries). The two main hospital systems here are Mountain States Health Alliance - big facility in Johnson City - Medical Center. Wellmont has Kingsport and Bristol covered. Holston Valley in Kingsport is their largest facility. Travel between the tri cities is 30 min or less depending on where you live. ETSU does have LPN-RN track. I have a few friends that completed it, seem fairly satisfied. Oh, JCMC is "Magnet", which might make a difference to you. I know that right now MSHA is offering a 10K sign on bonus but commits you to 4 years. I guess the Magnet is losing its attraction. I do not know about TN license in NC, but VA is a reciprocal state. Parts of Bristol are in TN/VA both.
  9. In East Tennessee, Mountain States and Wellmont are the only two games in town. Mountain States begins BSN at 18 per hour, Wellmont at 17.88 but with higher night and weekend diff. I think they stay pretty close so people don't move over to the other side. I am surprised that Vanderbilt doesn't pay more than they do, even though that weekend diff is sweet.
  10. Pelsmith, What a great and inspirational posting. May you obtain the healing hands you so desire and make the kind of lasting impressions on your patients that the nurses who have cared for your loved ones have done. I really appreciate your post. May God bless you and your family. ETNGuy
  11. Hey everyone. I am in school with a rather large guy that mentioned today about ordering a product called Hoodia. From some African cactus plant. Anyone ever heard of this and its efficacy? Is it snake oil or something worth investigating. I tried doing internet searches for reputable studies, but without luck. Thanks in advance. ETNGuy
  12. My school doesn't maintain a waiting list, acceptance is strictly based on GPA and prerequisites. http://www.discovernursing.com , the Johnson & Johnson Nursing website has a list of schools with no wait list, you might check them out. Good luck!
  13. CapeCod...did you have a really bad day?
  14. You have to wipe BUTTS? lmao
  15. The June 30 deadline applies for the 2004-2005 school year. The upcoming 2005-2006 school year is still much available to be applied for. And something many may not know...you can apply for fafsa and if eligible, for example, for pell grants, fafsa will reimburse you for the 2004-2005 school year as long as application is in by June 30. Hope this clarifies the post.
