Obviously this is done in the same vein as Nursing and Tattoos. After reading through that and the discussion at Disturb you to see a tongue pierced?, I was wondering how many "allnurses" had piercings. BTW, I don't have any and wouldn't consider doing it.

There is already one about piercings, just do a search.

Voted more than one. I have earrings and a belly ring. I do not wear the earrings to work, the belly rings stays in. And unless i'm going around topless at work, it's no one's business.

I have 3 in each ear and a belly button ring..

Usually only wear one set of earrings and like Marie said....unless I'm going topless at work , no one should see my belly ring!

I have several piercings in my ears, but the only one i usually wear is my tragus (for those who don't know that little flap that's connected to your head in the middle of the ear) One of the techs tried to give me flack for it when i first had it done d/t the no facial piercing rule. But the boss said it was no different than a ear piercing, so it stayed. It's a little hard to get my steth in there just right sometimes but otherwise no probs.

Ya know, piercings are just another adornment. I remember my sister getting upset with me for encouraging my neice to have her navel pierced! She got it the next year despite me!

I one hole in each ear and one my tongue, and if I could see my belly button i would get that done as well.

I've got one in each ear, a navel, and a tongue ring. I totally don't see the big deal. Nobody has noticed my tongue ring except for those I have shown it to (and that includes my six brothers and sisters, their spouses, and my eight nieces and nephews, all of whom I see at least twice a week) and the only time people have seen my belly ring is when I've been in my swim suit.

I have 3 in each ear and my navel pierced. I'm in school right now so I can only wear 1 pair of earrings for clinicals, normally it would be 2 sets of studs and 1 set of small hoops. I rotate the studs weekly so none of my holes start closing up. I leave my navel ring in all the time as no one can see it. I also have 4 tats but they're all covered by my uniform.

Both ears and my tounge and several tats, but I really couldnt see how it would ever be an issue, all I have ever heard from patients and families are compliments on my visible artwork. Never been an issue with management either.

It probably varies with the part of the country where you practice, but I can guarantee that you would offend many senior citizens in conservative areas. However, they would either be too polite to critize you, or afraid of offending you and provoking retaliation.
