Who could watch my child day care???
That is something you and your girlfriend would have to figure out. Maybe your girlfriend sometimes if she is off, maybe a grandparent. Really there is no right answer for this question but you do need to be aware that you will need to set up your own childcare

As a new grad, you will most likely have difficulty finding a job afterward nursing school. You can increase your chances if you get a tech or unit secretary job at a facility while in nursing school. Volunteering at a facility is also another route in sometimes. Scheduling depends on where you work. Some positions work 8 hr and some are 12 hr. As a new grad, be prepared to work nights, weekends, and holidays. I am lucky that I work 12 hr shifts and I self schedule so I pick what shifts I want to work but there is still a weekend and holiday requirement. I usually get my requested shifts due to seniority but not always. Pay depends on what region you are in and varies upon the facilities. Can you have a family life? Sure but it takes work and planning on both your parts. It is doable because I live it. Is nursing a good career. Yes it is. I find my work rewarding. Is it a comfortable living? Depends on your definition of comfortable. I own a home in an excellent school district, own newer vehicles, pay for school for my kids, and save for retirement. We go on vacation when we want, eat out whenever we want, and buy stuff without worrying about the money too much. But you have to understand that we are not extravagant people! We also have minimal debt and no student loans! Do I know nurses who aren't living comfortable? Yes! Many make decent money and live way beyond their means so are in major debt! There is no secret...live within or below your means and you will live comfortably! Good Luck!

I have some friends, husband and wife who were both nurses at the same hospital. They nearly always managed to work alternate shifts so that one of thems was always home with the kids. Not rolling in money but solidly middle class.
Nursing can be a very good gig... but it can also not be a very good gig... it really depends on which department you're working in and at which hospital. I've worked at two lousy hospitals and now work in a very good one.

Depends greatly on your location. Many, many nurses work only 3 and are off 4. Great for many families, but also depends on the age of your kiddos.
One of the beauties of nursing the is vast spectrum of choices available to you regarding your hours.

Please keep in mind that becoming a NURSE requires SCHOOL. In nursing school, you will be required to do complex math, conduct academically sound research, give presentations and write grammatically correct papers in clear, concise English. You will be required to pass classes in Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology, chemistry.
You cannot qualify for any kind of nursing exam or license until you pass nursing school with good grades. Knowing how to communicate clearly, with proper spelling, grammar & punctuation, will be very important in getting good grades. Nursing school is COLLEGE, just like any other degree.

Anyone else getting the idea that this isn't a nursing school student, but probably a primary school student? Not a 19 year old, but someone......younger?

Lol... I agree with the above previous poster!! No offense but the wording has me guessing what age is this person. Some of the questions are very repetitive!!
