Nurse handing you a coke?

Nurses General Nursing

It's interesting how Coca-Cola used nurses images to sell their product. Pretty clear that Coke used the trustworthiness of nurses to sell Coke.

Cheap and easy, they didn't have to pay big bucks for a paid endorsement like Bill Cosby or other celebrities.

Funny how Pepsi jumped on the nurse band wagon too.

Oops, didn't see your post! Great minds, and all that...

Look at the portion control on the first image. I mean that's healthy ;)

In the olden times, when I was a child, the correct medication for any upset tummy was coke or even better coke syrup. Now we have Zofran, not nearly as much fun, but better control of nausea.

I must admit I enjoy the old ads for nurses. They looked relaxed. hard to find a relaxed looking nurse now a days.

Specializes in LTC, assisted living, med-surg, psych.

We own a set of DVDs that are all about classic TV commercials from the '50s through the '80s. Danged if they didn't try to convince the consumer that EVERYTHING was good for you---not only soda, but white bread, cake, sugary cereals.... even Crisco. Sunbeam bread=Nutrition! Foods fried in Crisco=Lighter fare for the diet-conscious! Twinkies=a mid afternoon pick-me-up! Can you imagine trying to sell that stuff the same way now?

Brian, I just joined this site after seeing your posts which they put on facebook. I have a great photo of a coke poster at the national constitution center in philly that may be of interest to some. I don't know how to post a photo from my own computer. It looks like it only allows other links from the internet. Any ideas? Thanks.

.Oh lord, I feel so used, though I do see bubbly soft drinks for surgical patients food tray. Is this for bowel activity? Trust_a_Nurse_Handing_a_Coke.jpeg[/QOTE]

That PEPSI PERSON IS not wearing"her dignity aka CAP" SHE MUST NOT BE A NURSE.!!!!

Caffeine being the top of the food pyramid is not all bad. How many of you -be honest now-have NOT hit up the machine before during and after shift? Vegans and healthy peeps may abstain. I gained 15 lbs the time they switched from Coke to Pepsi with my beloved Mountain Dew in it.

Slightly different take: Daddy said the camel cigarette company sent each marine beaucoups of ciggys while they were aboard ship in WW2. Daddy died of lung cancer. I hate the Camel Cigarette Company.

This is now. Nurses-DO NOT TAKE ACTING OR PHOTOG gigs pushing detremental glop-please. Thanks
