    residude= male resident...residette= female resident.... Bed Queen= Unit Manager (male or female) on call. LOL=Little Old Lady endearing term Weather Check=Going out for a cigarette Sunrise Services=Last break on the night shift

    In my hospital, a Code Brown is a patient incontinent of stool....!!Lots of stool.. Guess that could be a chemical spill..LOL

    TAH: total abdominal hysterectomy

    T&A: NONONO! NOT what you're thinking-- here, it's tonsils and adenoids

    Appy: appendectomy

    Open Chole: open cholecystectomy

    Lap Chole: laparoscopic cholecystectomy

    At my facility we use:

    CGA - contact gait assist

    D & I - dry and intact (for dressings)

    A & O - alert and oriented (x1, x 2...etc)
