    ERT -Emergency Room Tech. In addition to regular tech duties they start IV lines, draw labs, do EKG's. Do all the casting and splinting, transport monitored (and non-monitores) patients and generally make the rn's life so much better.

    LTC. I've seen it used a lot around the site, and i haven't the slightest idea what it means!

    (LTC = long term care i.e. nursing home, also possible referred to as a SNF - skilled nursing facility, or ECF - Extended Care Facility.)

    Keeping up the geri stuff - LOL is not only laugh out loud, it's also Little Old Lady.

    UAP = unlicensed assistive personnel
    CMT = certified medication technician
    CMA = certified medication aide
    r/t = related to
    amb = as manifested by, also ambulate
    WC = ward clerk, also water closet in U.K.
    d/t = due to
    pt = patient if in small letters, PT physical therapy in caps
    res = resident, a term used for a patient in a LTC
    admin = on this BB usually refers to management-type people, administrators
    suits = same as above
    OMG = Oh, my God!
