My fight to become a nurse was not like many. One day I went to work in my old career as a Human Resource Generalist only to find out that my job was being outsourced! It was pitiful because it all happened on my 33rd birthday and it was right before Christmas. My hours had already been cut, I lost my vehicle to repossession, and I was dangling by the thread to keep a roof over my family's head. Our manager didn't even have the guts to let us all know. I cried for three days straight and did not get out of the bed until my husband came into the room to tell me that now was a great time to go to nursing school and start a new life in what I love doing the most...helping people.
