Yeah, she sounds nutso to me. Besides the fact that I don't think the NM, HR, etc would like this, what if she gives that to some wacko? Baddd idea!

In this day and age, that's not only crazy but stupid. I hope she lives alone, because I'd hate to think that there was anyone else (particularly any children) put at risk by her reckless behaviour.

Sound like a wakco.
I would let the higher ups know how great this charge nurses judgement is by myself or anonnymously reporting her actions.
Maybe they can avoid a lawsuit and get her out of there.

All of the above, plus she's possibly opening herself up to future legal problems if she's giving advice over the phone from home without being able to actually see the patient. I'm sure the facility has no protocol for her acting as a telephonic nurse for them in her off hours.

They are nuts! LOL,people like this make me laugh. I do not think what she is doing is illegal or unethical, just foolish and self promoting. I bet she/he is one very lonely ,isolated person who needs all the "attention" they can get. It will kick her in the butt some day. I would drop a hint to someone so they can try and intervene and then just ignore her.

Our badges are designed so that only the first name you choose to be called by is printed boldly on it. In very faint letters (you'd have to have the id badge right up to your face), our full name is on there. I have actually had the experience where one of my husband's patients, who happened to be violent, had climbed over our 6ft fence and was sitting under a tree at 2 in the morning. Of course the police were called! And our phone number is now silent.
Why is this nurse doing this? Are the patients able to tell you? Its queer!

I agree that it is dangerous, particularly if there is anyone else living at home with her. If you believe that management is unaware, they should be informed. It's frightening to think what might happen if someone crazy, vindictive, and/or criminal were to get a hold of that information.
