Talking to alot of the nurses in my hospital, if they knew then what the know now, they would not be nurses. I was a bit suprised to hear this. Anybody else feel this way?

I personally would prefer to be a mega millions lottery winner (but I am silly that way).

Nursing was a second career, and thanks to AN I think I went in to it pretty eyes open. So yes, I'd pick it again.
Funny, I have the same preference!

Yes I would.. Some days are so bad I ask myself "why" but I have to say I have so many more good days :)

Having spent the last 5 yrs earning my LPN, RN, and now, my BSN, I'd choose this field again.....if it was actally possible to get a nursing job. At the moment, I'm considering "retiring" because my self esteem can't withstand much more callous rejection from the cold-hearted HR professionals.

I would probably just go to PA school or stick it out through med school.

No. If I had known that my professional integrity would be impacted by know-nothing bean counters and that I would be abused and blamed; instead of respected and consulted, I would have become a hotel desk clerk.

Yes I would choose nursing all over again ! There is nothing more I'd rather be. I think the key is balance. Many nurses don't have a balance and can get easily fustrated with nursing. On my worst days I have questioned my ability to continue nursing, then I relax, take a breath and realize God destined me to do this. I also love being a nurse !
