so, i know that money is not everything, but it sure does help. i hope this question does not offend anyone,

i am just about to graduate highschool and go to college in the fall to obtain bsn, and am just wondering the following about nurses

and what better place to find answers than from you wonderful nurses at allnurses.com!!!

2. what state do you live in?

3. what is your job title?

4. how much do you make an hour?

5. how much do you make a year?

6. what do you like about your job?

4. $30.00 per hour with shift diff

5. $59,000 (work 32 hrs a week) with benefits.

6. I work as phone triage nurse for hospice. Mostly I love my job as I get to use my knowledge and help people.

I hate when patients or family blame me for things I have no control over and getting phone calls that require a lot of follow up such as falls & deaths a few minutes before shift change when I am trying to get out of there. We are on a salary and do not get paid for this.

6. what do you like about your job? lots of things. only having to work three days a week, constantly learning something new, and getting to think on my feet.

7. what don't you like about your job? nursing is not immune to the things that most people dislike about their jobs (the commute, office politics, catty co-workers, idiots in management) but in addition to that, i think we see more of the ugly side of life in general; families keeping grandpa on life support to collect one more social security check, the kids who are lost in the system because their parents are screw-ups, the people that milk the healthcare system... i can see how nurses get jaded.
