  1. Yeah I know! You would think! Hope you find everything you need to know, and good luck with the BSN.
  2. Thanks yall! It helps to hear all this positive feedback about a four year degree right away. It's probably what I'll do!
  3. Thanks again! I should have clarified that it's not a 100% full scholarship, but I agree about loans. Congrats that you don't have any!!! I don't want any either! lol hopefully financial aid and grants will cover me for the rest! FINGERS CROSSED...
  4. O.K. Thanks! I appreciate that, but I think I'm still gonna go for the Bachelor's program right away, because I've already gotten accepted to the two I applied to; and I even got a scholarship to one of them! I totally understand about how things can change in life, but we'll see how it goes! I'm just gonna roll with the punches. =)
  5. Hey Akanini, What would you base that on to get an ADN instead of BSN right now, and why would it be different in 3 years?
  6. Thank you all for your advice! I truly appreciate it!
  7. Thank you so much for your quick reply! And no, I do not have any kids! lol I think I will just go ahead and do the four year BSN program. By any chance, do you know if these programs usually include the pre-reqs...or if this will add on to the time, also could I take like summer sessions to finish early? I appreciate your experience!
  8. Hi! I am very interested in hearing this answer too. I am about to graduate highschool, and I am trying to decide between going straight to gt my BSN or getting my ADN first and then going to spalding or u of l to get my bsn. Plus, I have a $12,000 scholarship there and would get financial aid and grants as well. So should I get my BSN there, or ADN to BSN? Anyone?
  9. Hi! I'm graduating high school this fall, and my dream is to become one of these. I would love to work in primary care/vs hospital. I want to work in a pediatric doctor's office(9-5) I am trying to decide which would be the better route here in Louisville/Elizabethtown, KY. Do we have more of the other, or what's the deal? Which one has more openings NP or PA? Thank you so much!
  10. Hi! I'm graduating high school this spring, and I have been accepted into the 3 nursing programs I applied to to start this fall. Two of them are universities (BSN program) , and one is a community college(ASN program). Now,I am really struggling to decide which route I should take. My ultimate goal would be to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. The question is should i get my BSN all at one time, and then work while taking a NP program, or should I get my ASN (which I heard takes more like 3yrs after pre-reqs) and then take a RN-BSN program online? Which would be faster? Are RN-BSN online degrees usually part-time, and take longer than going straight BSN? Also, are online NP programs part-time. The reason I ask all of this is bc I know most NP programs want experience under your belt, and I want to become a NP as fast as possible!!!! =) It's my dream!
  11. Thank you both! I really appreciate it!
  12. Hi! I am currently deciding on colleges to get my nursing degree. I am graduating high school soon, and will start in the fall. I have the option of either attending a community college to get my ADN and then work while getting my bsn. Now, I think that may be kinda stressful, so I am leaning toward going to a university to get my BSN right away. I have been accepted already to the two universities I've applied to and a part GPA scholarship to one. My eventual goal is to become a PEdiatric Nurse Practitioner, but with all this talk about all the programs going to Doctorate for nurse practitioners, I want to get my undergraduate degree as soon as possible! Ya know what I mean!=) lol So, basically I'm wondering if I go to a 4 year university to get my BSN, are there any ways I can get it done faster? Like, can I take summer classes or something? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.
  13. Hi I am currently enrolled in a BSN program that starts this fall. I want to obtain my bachelor's degree, and I want to continue with my education to either do the Nurse practitioner program or CNM. I just checked for jobs hiring cnms in my area, and I didn't see any. Are they not in demand? Would I be better off doing the NP program? I'm just scared that it's going to doctorate level. Any help? Thanks
  14. Thank you so much...all of this is very helpful!
