Oh, I wish something like that would happen to me!!! I'm so jealous! Have any of your co-workers experienced anything like that in the hospital?

I enjoyed this story, but I can't imagine how scary that must have been.

When I originally pulled up this thread...the sun went behind the clouds and made my room suddenly dark!

I had a boyfriend from many, many years ago. He told me once that he was living in a old house, converted into apartments, that used to belong to a doctor.

He said the day he was moving out, the TV was sitting against the wall. It was the last item to be removed. He said he went back into the house to get it, and before he got to the door, he heard that the TV was on, which he thought was strange because he remembered disconnecting everything when taking down his entertainment center.

"No problem" he thought. He said that he got the shock of his life when he went to unplug the TV...and it WAS NOT plugged in to start with.

He said that he left the TV in the house, ran out, didn't even bother to shut the door. He wouldn't even go meet the landlord for the final walk through and told the LL he could keep the TV.

Oh I loved the post, I would have ran as you did. People think that a person of my size can't move that fast..... let me see a ghost and you will find out. Ha Ha Ha Keep us posted of any new events. Hope for you sake none will happen but hey one never knows...

Yes ghost do exist.From what you are saying it is clear that you had an encounter with a ghost.Actually it must be someone who died and her spirit still around.It may be a pt who died while been hospitalized and I say this for sign she displayed by walking in hospital gown and pushing an IV pole. Here is what i think You are to do. of course make sure to not walk alone down the basement any longer.Going to the basement with somebody won't stop these things to occur ifthey want to but you it allows you to have a back up just in casefor some reason U can't get back up the floor by yourself.You do not need to convince your coworker to believe in what you have seen .Because They won't unless they see this for themselves. But You know it real!!! because you have seen it .In This earth we live there is so much misterious things that happens and it seems only few people are granted acces to discover such things.Consider yourself to be one one of the choosen.Why you and not others? I don't know. Thake it from me ,I have had strange things happen to me too all of my life ,the most recent one just happen 3 years ago ,this time I did come in contact with real people but in fact they were working for lucifer and had a mission to bring death in my family.I mean they didn't seek to kill me physically but it all were supposed to happen spiritually.If You are a Christain You may be able to understand this,let say they are doing evil work ,same king like vodoo or to be a little precise Wictcraft.And I have been seeing things for a while,despite the suffering and torture i went trough ,unfortunatly even my husband still won't beleive ,things like ghost or evil deed exist.so Ask for someone to come with you if you are to go to basement.And Make sure you say a prayer to God,asking him to protect you from any harm or death spirit that may be looking to get at you.I say death spirit because people who have gone on the other side(dead) appear to us on this side of life sometimes in dream or like in your case ,they appear as ghost .From my own experience and other testemonies I have heard when things like this happen it may be a love one who is dead but is reaching to send a message to you.(in my case before any of what I explain above happened I had dream of 2 family members who had died long before I was even born.All I have seen of them was pictures.but They surely come to me in dream,they were looking at me with sadness bu we were unable to communicate./Only later after the event i remembered that dream and understood they wre warning of my life and things that were to take place.Somehow their spirit did catch on the evil plans these people had wanting me to die.In your case Since this happened in your place of work it may aslo be that a pt you once took care of and had died just wanted to manifest herself to you to signifie that you were once in contact before she went on the other side.But than again it may be that she want to caution you on things going around you .It may even be that In your work place there people who do not want your presence.Planning to eliminate you.Who knows.That the difficult part ,when these spirit manifest themselves they do not tell clearly what is it they come to us for.....keep your spirit high and trust in God proctection.But also be vigilant with people around you.Do not doubt any moment what you saw,because ghost do exist ,proof of what you saw filmy" and transparent. they don't have our phisycal body any more.But live now just like spirit .

deadhead, i do believe you've had a spiritual encounter.

they have a technique called "mirror gazing/scrying" for those who want to link with those who have passed.

actually, it's been around for centuries.

also, mirrors are known to be portals of entry for spirits.

just for the fact that you were staring at a ceiling mirror, leads me to believe your experience.

try not to be frightened.

he/she is a lost soul.

i can't stop smiling.

i have had some weird things happend to me years ago... but i have to admit, i was drunk, so i am not really sure if i saw what i saw!

anyways, it i got sober quick after that!

just enough to start drinking again!

I believe in ghosts and I have had several strange encounters at work and in my home.

A few weeks after we moved into our current residence my husband was in the bathroom brushing his teeth with the door open. I was in the living room when he called out to me to get the baby because she had just walked into the bedroom (next to the bathroom). I told him that the baby was in her crib sleeping and his eyes bugged out because he swore that as he was brushing his teeth and looking in the mirror he saw a little person run by. I brushed him off and laughed at him for seeing things. Well guess what? Maybe a week later I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth and the same thing happened to me! The hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I shivered because I know I saw someone small pass by but it was shadowy. I came out of the bathroom and my daughter was asleep in the playpen so there is no way it was her. My eyes were like :uhoh21: it was freaky. Come to find out from my landlord that his wife had a dog and they had put her down a few weeks before we moved in. The dog would always lie by his wife's bedside (she had alzheimers) and I really believe that was the little person I saw racing by the bathroom door into the second bedroom.

I opened up the Bible and prayed and I haven't had a problem since.

I have also experienced some weird happenings at my job. I work in LTC/SNF so you know people are always dying. We have a U shaped unit and there is a security camera mounted so that I can see the back hall from the nurse's station. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen "shadows" walking up and down the back hall at night. All of my residents in the back hall are A/0X3 and at night they close their doors and there are NO windows back there so who is walking around producing shadows?

Next I have a room in the front that the residents always have a problem sleeping in. One lady complained every night that a woman was coming into the room and staring at her and sometimes sitting on her bed. The CNAs and other nurses thought she was just being her usual demented self but once we moved her she stopped complaining and guess what? Everyone we put in that room complains of being disturbed at night.

We live in a strange world. I'm not very superstitious but we don't know everything so anything is possible.

I worked in a Burn Center where we saw manifestations of spirits many times. I think the traumatic way in which they died had something to do with the fact that they "wandered" a little afterward,kind of lost.

The one I remember most vividly was a night I was working after the night after they lost a young child,about 4-5 years old due to massive burns and shock.

I was in the now empty room,it was cleaned up,of course,since it had been many hours since he passed. I was checking out the room for supplies in case of an admission when I noticed there was a 3 digit readout on the monitor for the heartrate. This was an old monitor where if the cables moved there was artifact but this appeared to be a rapid HR of around 210 or so,or about the rate the child had had last night. I sort of didn't want to believe it,I turned the monitor on and off again,I removed the cable so there couldn't be anything contributing to this.

It started freaking me out so I brought a few other nurses in to see it,I even recorded it for quite a while. It definitely looked like a rhythm strip of someone of the age of the child that had been there that night.It wasn't from another monitor this was before that was possible.

We looked into the info from the child and we noticed that the wrong name was on the outside of the door. We moved that name from there and two of us were standing in the Nurses's station and we heard the first of two double doors bump as if someone was coming in(or out) then the second one bumped the same way and there was no one there and now the rhythm was gone from the monitor now. I know that sounds cheesy but that one of many encounters that I had while I worked there.
