Do you take the NCLEX-RN exam if you do an ADN to BSN program?

If you already have an ADN degree and an RN license and are planning to go for ADN to BSN program, would I have to take NCLEX again after the ADN to BSN program completion?

I have not graduated from my program straight BSN but my understanding is that once you have your RN you do not have to take the NCLEX again just because you bridge; I know that I could take the NCLEX before I get my BSN done with the right classes out of the way

ASN and BSN students take the same NCLEX-RN exam, so you would not have to take this exam again.

NO- you won't have to take the NCLEX again.

I don't believe that you qualify to take the NCLEX until you have completed all requirements for graduation- not just some of your classes.

That is what I ment by the right ones; there are many nursing classes that BSN students take for their higher degree that are not required for the NCLEX (like community)

Is your community a theory class or a clinical. I have my ADN and community (theory and clinical) was a requirement for graduation for us. And a verification of graduation is required by WI before you can sit for the NCLEX.

You can't take the Nclex until you graduate. You have to have completed all the necessary courses for your degree, not just the nursing courses.

That is not always true, there is a school in my home town that has the students take the NCLEX after their junior year and then finish their senoir year and graduate. Not 100% how it works becuase I did not go there but I did work with nurses from there that were RN's for a year before they finished school.

Is this recently? If so, I am shocked. To qualify to take the NCLEX and get an authorization to test, your school has to send in the paperwork that you completed ALL graduation requirements and that the school awarded you a degree. The school can't determine when they take the NCLEX, the state does. And thsi would only work if they only had non-nursing classes the whole last year (also hard to believe) otherwise, how did they have all the nursing topics learned a whole year in advance???

If you head out to the midwest, it's not uncomon for programs to have their students take the LPN boards half way through, and I know of one program that requires the students to pass the LPN board in order to continue on.
