happy new year folks,

l just started a new job where they don't mix their lasix with NS before pushing it and l came from a hospital where we mix, what is the best method and what do you guys do in your practise, to mix or not to mix?

Personally, it just depends on the ordered dose. Sometimes I dilute it, sometimes I don't. Some people may not agree with my answer. My best advice is to see if there is a P&P at your facility.

Super

Hi, this is my first response to a thread. We don't dilute lasix IVP we give up to 100mg. But it does have to be pushed slowly like 10mg per minute or it can cause hearing loss. I can see where places would do the diluting though because of that. I agree with looking for your P & P too good luck.

We don't dilute it either.

I've never diluted lasix either. It's pushed 10 mg/minute, as previously stated.

I'm another one who has never diluted Lasix.

I always thought it was a little counterproductive to dilute Lasix, so I never have either.
