Daytonite has passed away...

Nurses General Nursing

Updated:   Published

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the loss of one of our most beloved members, Daytonite.

Daytonite was instrumental in working with the nursing students here at allnurses.com. She was always there for them as well as the seasoned nurse. Her love, however, was teaching those in a nursing program by leading and guiding them here at allnurses.com.

Daytonite had been ill for a while; more seriously in the past 8 months. She passed away on April 8th, 2010.

Our sincere sympathy to the family of Daytonite. If anyone would like to place a condolence, here is the online obituary: JOYCE WAGNER Obituary: View JOYCE WAGNER's Obituary by The Plain Dealer. We think her family would be very touched reading the comments from our allnurses family.

We join you in mourning our friend...

Our fellow colleague...

A nurse above all...

A true advocate for the patient...

A teacher who gave of her heart for all who aspired to be a nurse.

Goodbye, Daytonite. You will be truly missed.

With Love,

All the allnurses.com staff

i printed out so many of her posts and saved them, reread them all through LPN schooling and as i started my RNschooling, didn't know she passed away, what a talent, what a heart for nursing and for helping, she has helped so many students and baby nurses grow and fly, i just printed something of hers today, so surprised by this finding, RIP our angel nurse. :dncgcpd::dncgcpd:

I learned a lot from Daytonite when I was in school. RIP Daytonite.

I've been learning from Daytonite for years after her passing and only just discovered why she seemed to have disappeared from allnurses. RIP Daytonite, I appreciate your hard work for students and the profession of nursing!

I wish I had been around to learn from Daytonite. I feel similarly about Ruby Vee, who also has seemed scarce lately...

See how we miss our mentors!

This should be a lesson to us.

When we're no longer novice nurses, we should always remember where we came from, and make every humanly possible effort (within reason) to mentor those who find themselves needing guidance as we once did!

Very sad to hear. Sending positive thoughts into the universe.

Didnt know about this till now.. she certainly helped me during my nursing school days and Ive always thought she was a male. Rest easy Daytonite and God bless.

RubyVee is still alive and kicking :)

Where is she? I haven't seen her post for so long.

She posted awhile back that she is undergoing treatment for Cancer.

I imagine that she has more pressing issues than posting here.

We just hope she is doing well.

:) . Tell her she's missed!

I loved that she was always genuine, helpful and down to earth, no matter what the subject.

I miss that. :)
