I am interested in finding out what most jobs require in regards to yearly TB testing. I just got some confusing paperwork from my job in regards to TB testing. Can my job require that I take the 2 step TB testing every year?:confused:

We do the two-step on hire and then yearly thereafter.

Usually you take the 2 step once, then the single step every year.

Specializes in ER.

We also do two on hire, then one annually. It seems like a lot to do two-step on every employee every year.

I do know also. May I ask how do you explain dressing room area in the operating area? Is it female dressing room and Male dressing room

Now I really am confused. What do dressing rooms have to do with 2 step TB skin testing?

To answer your specific question, the employer can require whatever they want, I suppose. However, since their paperwork is confusing, maybe they really only intend to require the 2-step initially, followed by the single test annually. Maybe they just don't know how to write coherently:clown:

When I started school we had to get the 2 step TB skin test done to start. I had to get it done at my doctors office and I kid you not I had to fight with the doc's asst (this one happened to be an EMT and not an MA) to get her to do the second part. She told me that I had just had a TB skin test and I certainly didn't need another one. Even after explaining the rationale behind it and that it was for nursing school she was still refusing. I finally had to tell her that if she had such a problem with it then she needed to send the doc in and I am sure he would take care of it. Lo and behold she came back with the stuff and did the skin test, not without some grumbling though. Anyways, a little off topic but this just reminded me of that.

I think that is just someone derailing your thread with a random question because they don't know where to post it.

Of course they can. However, since the paperwork is confusing, I would make a call to your supervisor to clarify.
