I know it is a little early, but anyone plan on applying for FCCJ's spring 2010 program?? If I can get my Nat points up and if I do well in Micro this summer , I will be ready to apply!!!:yeah:Finally!!

My points are not great, I had a's and b's in all my classes, but apparently I didn't do well on the nat. I only had 185, so I figured I would be very lucky if I had gotten in. It just sucks because I did work so hard!! anyways, enough of my pity party.. moving on ... Good Luck and hopefully I will see you guys next go round.. and all of those one semester ahead can give me heads up on the stuff I need to know!!!

Don't be discouraged! I had all A's in psych, sociology, human growth, Anatomy 2, statistics, humanities. B's in english and micro and 1 C in anatomy 1! If you are done with all your prereqs retake the NAT it's the EXACT same test and the EXACT same order! That's the reason why they make you wait 3 months before you retake it! If you do some reviewing for the test I guarantee you will score higher on it the next go round that's what happen to me! I was going to apply for Fall term but I only had 180 something without micro, by the end of the summer I retook the NAT and made a B in micro and that raised my points to well over 200!!! Just trying to encourage you! If you don't make it until next semester I will make sure I give you a heads up on your first semester!:D

THank you!! You are so sweet and I am so glad someone like you finally had one of her dreams become a reality!!! Good Luck to you !!!!

Ah, what's another day??? LOL

Best of luck to you both. Jkvanso, I certainly believe that 195 is MORE than enough to get in. Give it until tomorrow and call up. I just can't believe the points have jumped that high to get in. I really feel the cut off is not higher that 190. But then again, I have been wrong many times before. Still, best of luck to you guys. You both obviously want it just as much, if not more , than the rest of us.

Good to luck to you guys! In the meantime I will be going to the Northside Medical Center to get my drug test, titers, and flu shot tomorrow!

And I must admit, Im jealous! LOL.....wish I were getting poked at like you!

Best of luck to jkvanso and mydreamm77. It seems as though they don't really have an organized way of advising people of whether or not they were accepted. But then again, maybe they have their own way of doing things. My last name starts with a W so I am not sure how they are doing it. Just don't give up and keep trying no matter what. But hopefully, tomorrow will be your time! :)

Keep us all posted!

FutureRNmom, i just got my email with the orientation info as well...WOW what a long day.. but I am so ready for it!!

I wish I could tell all of you that it's not going to be this disorganized once you're in, but unfortunately it doesn't stop here. You just have to learn to roll with the punches. But keep in mind that they have been going through a lot of changes so that may be why. And it's not really the professors that are disorganized, it's the program. All my professors have been WONDERFUL! Also, spring is the first semester they are emailing acceptance notifications, so there probably is a little confusion going on since it is new to them. Last term I saw people posting on the Fall thread that they were receiving their acceptance letters on Saturday, and I didn't get mine until Tues or Wed (I can't remember). So if you haven't received something yet, be patient, you will find out soon. Good luck!!

FutureRNmom,

You seem really sweet. Thanks for all the encouragement for those of us still waiting... And, thanks for the info too! I'll be sure to let my friend know about that scholorship packet she received. Maybe she misunderstood and took it as an acceptance to the program? I hope for her, she is still accepted. Thanks again!

If anyone gets anything in the mail, email or talks to anyone at north campus on the status of the acceptance or denial letters tomorrow, please keep us posted... Thanks:) :redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe

Oh, I also recommend going on ratemyprofessors.com, look up FCCJ (not sure if they made the change to FSCJ), look under Nursing department and take a piece of paper and right down each professor and their rating. There are quite a few professors on there that don't teach first term. The classes you will be taking first term are NUR1140, NUR1110, NUR1022C, and NUR1060C. Click on the different nursing professors and you can see what course they taught. Take this rating paper with you to orientation. You will be given different sections to choose from through a lottery, and you will want to know what professors you want to take when you register. (I hope this made sense, lol)

FutureRNmom.. I see that you are interested in OB/Gyn... I would love to work in that field as well.

Saturday night I had to go with a family member to the hospital and I was able to speak with a nurse who graduated from FCCJ about six years ago. He gave me good advice. He told me to be sure to find a group of about 4-5 people that you can trust and stick with them!!! He said having close friends is really important for studying and just getting through everything. He is supposed to be emailing me some information that may be helpful...I will be sure to look for you on orientation day.. What is your name?

Do you know exactly how the "lottery" works? Do we get to sign up for what classes we want to take first?

Awesome! Thanks so much Stephanie09
