I know it is a little early, but anyone plan on applying for FCCJ's spring 2010 program?? If I can get my Nat points up and if I do well in Micro this summer , I will be ready to apply!!!:yeah:Finally!!
FutureRNmom.. I see that you are interested in OB/Gyn... I would love to work in that field as well.Saturday night I had to go with a family member to the hospital and I was able to speak with a nurse who graduated from FCCJ about six years ago. He gave me good advice. He told me to be sure to find a group of about 4-5 people that you can trust and stick with them!!! He said having close friends is really important for studying and just getting through everything. He is supposed to be emailing me some information that may be helpful...I will be sure to look for you on orientation day.. What is your name?
Do you know exactly how the "lottery" works? Do we get to sign up for what classes we want to take first?
My name is Janobia and I am looking for study partners right as we speak lol! That would be cool to get information that will be helpful! Stephanie09 thanks a bunch for the tips I use ratemyprofessor.com all the time and I will be continuing that this next semester lol. Question I assume that numbers are from 1-144? Do they call you up one by one or by a group of 12? and when do they put that you have been accepted into the program on your degree audit! I am so excited you guys and if anyone is looking for a study buddy I am game! lol;)
They pass the bowl around and watch everyone pick a number. Then they call you up one at a time. Once you go up there and register you can leave.
FutureRNmom, I can private message you I think, I just have to figure it out. Shands is not even an option first term, and you rotate hospitals every term.
I will !!! I live at the beach , which is nice, but like I was telling Janobia I think I am the furthest away from that campus, lol. And I have a lease. But I think I have someone I can carpool with, but I was thinking we can still add more people to the car pool. If anyone is interested!!! I think Janobia is right on the way off Merrill or somehting near there, right? A good meeting place! go green!

This is how the lottery works. You are given a list of 12 different sections to choose from. The professors are a little different for each section, but the classes are the same. There is a hospital assigned to each section also. Pick your top 3 choices. Each person draws a number from a bowl and whoever has number one gets to pick their section first. Obviously the higher your number the less choices you will have, which is why you pick a top 3 b/c your first choice may not be available.
If you bring a laptop to orientation you can look professors up at that time if you don't want to mess with making a list.
