FCCJ SPRING 2010
I am with ya! I have waited so long for this and now I am like...whoa! slow down! I took medical terminology two years ago, so it is a good refresher for me. The dosage calculations are pretty much basic math, but it still intimidates me at times... I look to hard into the questions sometimes..Good luck... Hope you have a Happy new year, be safe!

Thanks FLmom I think I am just freaking out! I know I can do it but it is scary to think that someone could flunk out the first day of nursing school! Yeah, I am over reacting.

FCCJ SPRING 2010
So, I just wanted to get some opinions and thoughts... Are you guys as scared as I am? OMG, I am finding myself totally freaking out over this dosage calculation stuff, I know that it is pretty basic math but I still keep asking myself if I can do this!! It is crazy and I think I am just panicking and over reacting but I wanted to see how everybody else is doing??? Hopefully, better than I am!

No flash cards??? OMG, I would find out why... they are such a life saver... otherwise you have to sit there and write all of them out. I was so excited when I seen them.. did you get your book used?

FCCJ SPRING 2010
FLgirl06, My son went to Chappell Schools at kent campus last semester and loved it, so did I. They are very nice and are always doing great things with the kids. They do have a drop off rate of either 5.50 an hour or 7.50 I can't remember which it is. North campus is full so you will have to check into the other campuses. You can get on a waiting list for the North campus as well.

FCCJ SPRING 2010
My son will be going to Kent campus for the spring semester because the north campus was full. I did my child care grant application I think end of november early december (it was right after I got my acceptance letter) and just put on my application that I would be attending the nursing program full time and would provide my schedule later, which I did once I had registered for classes. To be sure that you get a spot next semester and are able to get the grant just start asking about a month before the semester ends and they will let you know.

FCCJ SPRING 2010
Hello everyone... I am so glad yesterday is over. I picked number 60, so I got section 10, looks like I will be with you dreiinvincible :) Moecato, My son goes to Chappell Schools and it is absolutely wonderful. He only went for a few hours last semester but he will be attending full time starting in January. He goes to the one at Kent campus because they do not have any openings at North campus. He is three and loves going. The staff is so nice and are always doing fun things with the kids. The director of that campus is awesome. I was able to get a child care grant as well so it paid for 80% of his tuition!

I just got my uniforms in! My husband laughed at me because I was like a kid on Christmas morning! Moecato, A hemostat is a cross between scissors and clamps. Google Hemostat and it will bring up pictures.

Moecato, I had one folder and had the papers separated on each side with a sticky showing who they needed to go to. When I turned mine in the lady told me that it should have been in two folders but it was okay that is wasn't and she would make sure they got all of the paperwork.

I turned in all of my paperwork today! Just an FYI, you do need to put all of your medical info in one folder and give it to Crystal and one folder needs your drug test copy and background info in it for tanya (i think that is her name, I could be wrong. I don't have it in front of me). I ordered my uniforms on the 22nd and I just got an email saying they will be here tomorrow via ups.

cdettelbach, Once you click on the communities tab it shows a list of campuses. Click on North campus, then it will give a list of all the organizations. You have to click on "enroll" to join that specific organization. I am in nursing tutor north, and nursing student orientation. Once you self enroll (this does not mean that you have to pay for anything, this is all free) you should be able to see all of the information. I hope this helps. stawall0102

FCCJ SPRING 2010
I just got back from the Doc, and turns out I have no HepB antibodies at all. So I am starting the series of boosters now. I also had to get MMR booster. I am thinking jeeze, thanks mom, did I not get any vaccines as a kid or what?!?! Thank goodness my varicella was good though. So today I got a total of three shots I am such a wimp when it comes to them. So now I just have to wait until next week to get my PPD test. I also went and got my passport photo at the UPS store but it turned out way to light so I am going to have it redone. But just an FYI, the UPS store gives a discount to students for the passport photo. It is only 7.95. Also, I just went out to BB and all you have to do is enroll in the organization to be able to view the information for nursing. It has alot of information on dosage calculations listed. It is located under nursing tutor. Stephanie09.. Thanks so much for the helpful info!!
