Questions about working weekends...

If you work weekends (day or night), do you get a differential? Or, do you get the same amount of money as someone who works weekdays? Just wondering because I started working night shift and noticed a big difference in my paycheck and wanted to know how it is for working weekends. Thanks!:)

At the hospital I work at we get a weekend differential of $6/hr for working a fri, sat, or sun. Most hospitals do offer weekend diffs.:)

SIX BUCKS AN HOUR WEEKEND DIFFERENTIAL??! Holy cow.....What dream planet are you on, and how do I get there?? :chuckle

No diff at my hospital except for evenings and nights. That is only if you start your shift after 3pm. So those who work 12 hour day shifts are out of luck, their shift started at 7am so they dont get any differential after 3pm. Same on the weekends, everyone works EO so no differential for weekend days.

10% of base hourly rate for weekends

Never had a weekend differential except through agency.

Wow! I guess it really depends on the hospital you work at!

My weekend differential is 1.25 (wow!!!) but if you commit to working 12 out of 13 weekends per quarter you get an additional $8.00/hr. You must sign a commitment though....

in NC we can get a lot for the diff/at night-up to $12 more per hour/hty.

we get a 15% differential for nights, and a 5% differential for weekends.

hey mjlrn, I work at Children's in Dallas, yep $6/hr weekends, $4.50/hr nights diffs.:)

WOW! And I thought I had it good at my hospital. We get $2.50 for night diff, and another $2.50 for weekend diff. So you make out on a weekend night. That currently is the best diff offered in town. My other hospital I do odd hours at only pays $1.50 for night diff. wow.
