Scrubs with mis-matched colours

I am in a program at college for Continuing Care Assistant. We need to start wearing scrubs to lab class as of tomorrow. I went to buy some, but I had a difficult time finding matching pants and tops in my size (they were sold seperately). I had to get different colours. I'm now worried that I will be the only one in class with a different colour top and bottom, and I don't want an instructor to single me out in front of the class for it.

Have you ever seen anyone wearing scrubs that are different colours?

I bought purple and blue pants, and a pink and (different shade of) blue tops... Think I would wear the pink top with the blue pants for my first day..

As long as the colors aren't clashing horribly it is probably not a problem. When I did my CNA training the important bit was that we had on scrubs/clothing that we could move in while still looking professional. On my unit most of us wear scrubs that have a patterned or different colored top from our bottoms so that we look at little less hospital-like; this is encouraged by our manager. Other units encourage staff to wear specific colors (e.g. RNs blue, CNAs grey), though it is not mandatory (yet).

If you have doubts that your scrubs won't meet the dress-code for lab you can always call the school and ask before you go in.

People where I work where mismatched all the time. If the dry didn't give you specifics, don't worry about it. You'll be surprised by what others are wearing too, I'm sure.

I don't own a single "matched set." I usually wear black pants and a solid-colored top. Sometimes I wear navy-blue pants with a lighter blue top so it still coordinates. I also have brown and dark grey pants, but only wear them with scrub tops that are printed and have that color. I prefer darker, more neutral pants just because I feel more professional than I would if I were wearing bright pink pants to match my bright pink shirt.

Mismatched scrubs as a student, as long as you weren't told otherwise, isn't a problem. Now, when you have different shades of the same color...

I've done it and have seen others do it too. Not a big deal as long as they "match" and are clean and wrinkle free.

Just tell them you're colorblind and had no clue they didn't match if asked.

Best not work in any areas that provide hospital scrubs- depending on when they were bought and how many times they were laundered and what laundry delivered, my scrub top and pants have never been the same shade of blue. Close, but never fully matched.

Have you tried Amazon? Their Cherokee scrubs are the cheapest i could find so far.
