CNA's - What hours do you work?

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Updated:   Published

Just wanted to get an idea of what would be a typical shift schedule for a CNA.

Please include your hours per shift, shifts per week, and what type of facility you work in.

Thanks!

Midnight - 8am, 5 nights a week with every other weekend. In my second semester of nursing school (full time student)

2-10 every other weekend

I work 40 hours a week. 3-11p, every other weekend. I'm a cna on a med/surg oncology floor. It's great!

Specializes in hospice.

I work three NOC 12s a week. I'm in the float pool so my days are different every week.

I work 2 3-8's in a LTC I'm in school and have a full time job.

I currently work 4 days a week FT 3-11pm. This includes working EVERY weekend since May! Next month, I'll be switching to NOCS 11-7am 5 days a week working every other weekend. I'm so glad to get some weekends back to myself!

I work 11-7 mostly, sometimes 7-3. I much prefer the 7-3 shift because it flies by.

In my LTC facility full time is considered 4 shifts a week so I work 4-5 days a week, with every other weekend off.

Specializes in Transitional Nursing.

I worked 0645-1915 in an acute rehabilitation unit.

8 patients with major deficits, who needed help bathing, dressing, eating, getting into and out of bed and also needed to eat all 3 meals in our dining room as part of their therapy.

I had every diagnosis you can think of, from hip replacements to quadriplegics.

I absolutely loved every minute of it, and miss it very much.

Specializes in Pediatrics.

12 hour 7-7 shifts. I can do either day or night, depending on what I want and what is available. I am a flex employee so I basically float around the schedule. Oh, and its in a hospital on the peds floor.

My actual shift is 2P-10P. We also have 6A-2P and 10P-6A. I work at a nursing home/rehab facility with an assisted living in another building in Jasper, Indiana. I work about 3 days a week and every other weekend, however when I finish my week I end up with about 100 hours a week!

I work in a hospital now doing 3 12s 1 week then 4 12s the next rotating. I like it because me and the other girl get over time every paycheck. Last hospital I worked at was 3 12's and no time for over time. and also another hospital I was at pre diem and did 1 12 a week.

I work part time: 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. at my local hospital. I am scheduled to work 48-56 hours bi-weekly. I work 3 to four days a week and every other weekend. I was hired to work in ICU, but I frequently float and perform duties as a patient sitter. I also attend school part time.
