  1. So here’s a little back story. I work for a Mohs surgeon. We do surgery in the morning then have lunch from 12-1 then see patients in the PM. We CANNOT have our phones on us at all except for during our lunch. We have to put our phones in this box right when we get to work. As of yesterday we were allowed to wear our apple watches, but just couldn’t be on them at work (i.e if we went to the bathroom we could look at our watch). So today when we came to work our manager told us no more Apple watches pre the Dr. Also this isn’t HIS office. He have people that are higher up than him, but that was his decision. Also he has a Apple Watch and checks it constantly and will look at it when he’s with a patient and just walk out and leave the room. On top of all this our phones are recorded here at work. Which I don’t care about. The fact of the matter is that, I have 2 small kids, and a husband that isn’t mentally well ATM and if someone calls or texts me, I want to be able to find time in between patients, and take care of anything I need to. Not get called out during surgery to answer a phone call from my kids school ( that I could have called back if I seen it on my watch) i guess I’m just wondering do any of you guys have to deal with this at your job.
  2. I work in a hospital now doing 3 12s 1 week then 4 12s the next rotating. I like it because me and the other girl get over time every paycheck. Last hospital I worked at was 3 12's and no time for over time. and also another hospital I was at pre diem and did 1 12 a week.
  3. Thank you. Yes eventually I want to go for my RN. My MA classes were fairly easy but thats just the very beginning of nursing. I get over whelmed very easy, so I'm thinking my goal is LPN, work for a year or 2, then do a bridge program. Thanks for the advice.
  4. I just lived in Denver Colorado for the past 7 year. I got my CNA 5 years ago and I have working as a CNA since then. Along the way I got my MA (last year). My schooling was 6 months and I learned a lot. Also learned EKG monitoring. I just recently moved back to south Florida and I now work at a small hospital as a CNA and also tele monitor tech. I love school and was thinking of getting in to an LPN program. I found one that is pretty cheap, has a part time schedule (so I could also work). The question is, im just not sure if its smart of me to do, because I do already have my Medical assisting and its so similar. I'm just kind of stuck. I also don't have much experience as an MA. Only 5 months.
