When orientation is over they said you will either work 24 or 36 hours nights with every other weekend! Good luck on your interview!

Hi everyone, I have been a part of all nurses for a few years now. I have been trying to get into a nursing program for almost 2 years. I had completed all my prerequisite courses and everything. I had been denied twice to the same school and the other had said they had no space for the upcoming semester. My hopes obviously were shattered because all I wanted to do with my career was to become a nurse. I didn't know where to turn and what my next move was. I then decided to apply to the nursing program at the school where I was taking my prereqs, and everything was very last minute, since I hadn't planned on doing this before. I had to retake my TEAS, since every school requires you to take it at their campus. I got everything ready as the deadline approached. Literally last minute I took my TEAS and handed in my application the same day. After a little over 1 month and a half I finally received my acceptance letter today! I cannot describe the joy the joy that I am feeling right now! It does sound so cheesy and cliche but I know I was born to do this, it truly is a passion, and I know there are many negatives and difficult times in nursing, but it is what I chose to do. So for those who are giving up on yourself and think there is no way out, believe me, there is!! You can also do this! If you feel like nursing is also your passion, don't give up on yourself, there will be a school that accepts you! If you have to retake a class or so to get a higher grade , then do it, it will totally be worth it! I promise! I am extremely excited to begin my journey this upcoming fall! Thank you for those who took the time to read until the end!!

I'm not a nurse yet but what helps me in general is to never take anything personal or to not be so harsh on yourself. When you're having a bad day or you feel like you're not doing "well enough" it is always great to remind yourself that you are human and that you are allowed mistakes here and there and that you too need a break or need a slower day. Take it easy and if something is really stressing you out, try to change it :)

They gave me a student ID number but I don't know if that means I was accepted to the school, I don't know if that is just part of their application status. I hope they don't make me wait haha! I believe they won't though because of the way they've been handling the whole application process. I'm nervous but super excited! Maybe we will see each other around!

Hi Mrs. D, I did apply but for Fall 2015. I was going to apply for the spring but I changed my mind. They received my app and gave me access to their navigator login student site so I can check the application status. Good luck with everything and I hope we both get great news!

I am finishing up my pre-reqs now and all the nursing schools I'm applying to require bio, chemistry, a&p I and II, and micro for sciences. Math wise, they require algebra and statistics... That is totally the norm for all the nursing schools I've looked at.

I work 40 hours a week. 3-11p, every other weekend. I'm a cna on a med/surg oncology floor. It's great!

I just don't understand why people who talk so bad about being a nurse stays in it? If you are so miserable as a nurse and feel like it is not worth it for you, then why stay in it? Just because it didn't work out for you doesn't mean it won't work out for others, in no way should you discourage people out of it, everyone has a different calling. Also, people talk like all the other jobs out there are perfect, just a reality check: nursing is not the worst job, many people of many different professions also hate their job, so please don't make it seem like only nursing has it's down sides, and that by choosing another profession one couldn't possibly be miserable... No offense to anyone, just expressing my opinion.

I also think it really depends on a few factors... Depends on how difficult your professors might be and also how much effort you put in. I'm entering my fourth semester of ore-reqs and I've been working full time (40) hours during the whole thing and I've managed to get all A's except a B+ in chem, which was the hardest class for me. You just have to know what is more important for you and if you need to work, then do your best to balance your work and school. You will do great.

Hi everyone! I am finishing up my pre-reqs within the next semester or so. I want to apply to a BSN nursing program. I am not sure what college to apply to yet but I live in the northshore area of massachusetts. I also work full time and unfortunately I need to. Could anyone let me know which nursing school they go to and how their typical schedule is like? What time are your clinicals and classes and labs? Thank you so much, any help is greatly appreciated!
