Anyone going beyond their CNA license??

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

I'm just curious...I love to read all kinds of feedback!

Thanks!

I am a nursing student at Kaplan College San Diego, and I am definitely continuing my education. I started out as a EMT about 5 years ago; however, I never pursued the career (not being able to afford the incredibly low pay). About 7 months ago I decided to get back into the medical field and got my CNA license. I am currently working in home health care and absolutely love it! I am in my first semester of RN education and while it is an accelerated course my graduation date is May 2011. I strongly recommend anyone with the drive and motivation to continue their education! The field is and will be in need of bright compassionate minds for many years to come!

I definately am. I am in my first semester of college. I have to take my pre requisites first. So I am enrolled in a three year program. I am trying to find a way to make it work easier. I am a mommy of a three yr old. I work full time and am taking on 14 credits in school. I do not want to drop any of th ecredits because I want to get done and I can't cut back hours, we need th eincome.

Any advice? I would do fine, but Human Biology is givin gme a hard time. ha-ha..

Any advice is greatly appreciated. :)

I am. I was doing pre-reqs for BSN but took a break, stress from paying for it all myself. Now I'm in LPN school planning on doing LPN to RN and hopefully to BSN

Specializes in Peds OR as RN, Peds ENT as NP.

Yes!!! I plan on going to accelerated BSN program next summer, and eventually a nurse practitioner! But I love being a CNA.

Specializes in LTC, geriatrics, hospice, etc.

Ive had my certification for 8 months now. I start next semester at a CC... trying to finish the pre reqs (I withdrew 2 years ago, hubby was deployed and I couldn't handle everything at once with the kids and working), then hopefully I will get in to the fall ADN class. After that I am bound to my LTC facility (tuition reimbursement) for a while. While working there, I plan on doing the ADN to BSN program at the local unversity, then CRNA (anesthetist) at the only university for 200 miles that offers it (if they will ever let me in ::snooty:: ).

Good luck to all of you! Stay positive! We can do it!

Hello. I'm not in the CNA program yet, but I will be going to my information session on Oct. 28th. This is a 3 1/2 month course at Palm Beach Community College in Lake Worth, FL. It will cost me 696.00. I would like to work towards a LPN program at the same College, which will be a 1 year and half of more education. I want to work as a CNA and learn with RN's for maybe about a year, then go for LPN. I'm so excited I can't wait. I'm having dreams about it, and I tend to think about it alot. I hope this helps...

I am taking a health unit course next month. My goal is to get a job at a hospital on a floor as a sectary. Hopefully not wishful thinking.
