I'm just curious...I love to read all kinds of feedback!
Thanks!
I've just started my LNA coursework. I was certified a Professional Rescuer through the American Red Cross last week. I have an interview with the local LPN school next Wednesday. My plans are to pick away at what licenses or certificates I can and get my head into nursing as much as I can and then one day, with proper gen-ed classwork, I will be accepted to a ADN program! Someday!!
I have a Working while in school plan. LPN school starts in March-ish at our local tech school, I will do the LPN-RN bridge at a local CC, and either stay there in their ADN-BSN bridge and then CNM (Masters) or going to a direct entry midwifery school... I'll decide that after my ADN is over.
LOL! Are we twins and don't know it? That is my exact path, as well! Good Luck:yeah:
i love being a cna, i'm a adns (associate degree nursing student) right now and i work at the hospital. it's great experience. i love taking care of people and this is a great way to start while i'm in school. i look at it as, if you want to be at the top one day... you have to start at the bottom. i'm having trouble dealing with other cnas who are just there for the paycheck and don't care about patient care. it make me upset. : ( i work on tele floor right now and i'm trying to get onto the med/surg floor (much better experience).
after i graduate in may 2011 i will do my bsn bridge. i'm sure i'll have my mind made up by then on what i want my master's in. i'm thinking nurse prac. for peds or midwife or family health nurse prac.
good luck everyone with there adventures!
I start an LPN program in jan. 2010, and I'll finish Dec. 2010, I will work as an LPN for 2 years So that I can enter the RN bridge program at my school which will only take 8 weeks to complete as long as I work 2 years as an LPN and that will get me an ADN for RN, I want to later get my BSN and MSN to become a nurse practitioner, midwife or anethesist, and before my retirement years, I would like to become a professor and teach nursing. That my plan. I already have my B.S. and MBA, just more education to go along with my experience, and yes I am working as a CNA, Jan. 2010 will make it 2 years for me. Did what I had to do to get my foot into the healthcare industry plus the long care facility I work at trains you i 3 weeks to be a CNA and they pay for all including your wages during the 3 weeks. It was a great opportunity.

I'm taking my CNA while I await the application period for RN or LPN at our local state college. Our clinicals start next week! Eeeek! Considering applying to the surgical tech program too, or maybe all 3. It's really tough to get into ours, as they're limited access, with GPA's of at least 3.6 and higher.... Taking all my prereqs in order of priority, and I'll roll the dice on getting accepted!
