BCIT August 2013 Applicants

Hello future nurses,

I am so excited to be starting nursing at BCIT in August!

For future applicants: To have a strong application make sure you have work experience, volunteer experience (preferably healthcare), as well as liberal arts courses - my Psych 241 at SFU transferred over as a libs course and I will find out if any other courses of mine transfer over once I send them an updated transcript.

I am going to be going in with a completed BSc in Kinesiology and Psychology, but a full degree is not necessary, just at least 60 credits to be competitive!

Anyone else defer to August?

Re: car I would suggest speaking to somebody at Bcit. I'm currently in level 2 and a lot of people car pool as we often have to be at the hospital 6-630 am. For level 5, access to a car is ideal because you have back to back appointments in a day, and they may not be in the same neighbourhood. That being said, Bcit is fairly accommodating, and will probably help you figure this issue out. Good luck

I wonder how much influence the questionnaire has

Regarding the car for level 5 -- you must have use of a personal vehicle if you are placed in home health for your community clinical because you will be transporting personal health records. It is a confidentiality issue. You will hear more about this at your orientation.

Good luck to all of you - I am sure you will love (and sometimes hate, ...but not really :)) BCIT nursing as much as me!

So quiet on here while everyone is busy working on their questionnaires! :)

Anyone finished and handed theirs in already?

Last home stretch! One more month till final results!!!

I'm going to try and finish tonight. The questions are challenging!

I finished editing mine earlier! Gonna submit when I get home from work! :) good luck everyone!

Good luck to everyone!

Hello, I was wondering if you get accepted if you can defer your acceptance to the January 2014 intake? Also, how exactly would you do this and is it guaranteed? I am finishing up my Kinesiology degree this year at the University of Calgary and really want to be able to do both! Thanks and good luck everybody!

As far as I know, if you are accepted in one intake you can defer to the next. However, since the prereqs change for January I am not sure.

Just to be 100% clear- its due by tomorrow right? So im guessing by like 4? I think it said on the login page when the quiz expires, but can someone else confirm aswell so my nerves are eased :s

I haven't really worked on it much until today. I'm going to hand it in tomorrow too.

@ Ben C, I'm pretty sure you would be able to defer to the next intake.

It's due by midnight tomorrow!
