Hello future nurses,
I am so excited to be starting nursing at BCIT in August!
For future applicants: To have a strong application make sure you have work experience, volunteer experience (preferably healthcare), as well as liberal arts courses - my Psych 241 at SFU transferred over as a libs course and I will find out if any other courses of mine transfer over once I send them an updated transcript.
I am going to be going in with a completed BSc in Kinesiology and Psychology, but a full degree is not necessary, just at least 60 credits to be competitive!
Anyone else defer to August?
Hi everyone!!! To me, the 4 questionnaire that we had to fill out seems like an interview, just like how UBC Nursing does their applicants. Doing interview online is way better in person, consider it gives you the time to think about what you are going to say and it saves the BCIT Nursing selection committee time...you know...interviewing 176 applicant will probably take at least 1 month. As for contacting the reference, they probably will contact them. I know this because my volunteer manager told me that she knows about the BCIT nursing reference procedure, that is, emailing the reference people and request them to fill out few questionnaires. Hope this helps everyone! GOOD LUCK!!!
someguy604: Nope, nothing on my end so far.
I'm thinking they probably won't contact references unless your answers on the questionnaire sounds like a hoax. They don't really have the time to contact all 170+ applicant's references and each applicant would probably have at least 2 references.

Maybe it's worth 30%? I believe it's worth 30 points.
